the sushi is fresh and tasty and the prices are great. in my opinion it's more for take out and not to sit but if you do sit - outside is more nice. it's a small and sweet place and the Japanese man who made the sushi in front of you is sweet and friendly. I really love the brown... More

This place is sorta ehhh...It's nice that you can sit outside (if you are able to get one of the 2 or 3 tables they have), however, if you're stuck eating inside it's really drab and feels kind of dirty. It doesn't feel like a hole in the wall, just kinda a drab joint. The fish was average however the... More

This place was one of the best secrets of the third downtown Palo Alto. Fantastic food with a simple menu, the ingredients are all collected the same day from SF fish and produce markets. The chef is genuine, and if I lived there I'd be back at least every other week.

Friendly chef & son. A hidden gem tucked away off California St. I was a bit skeptical at first but I can live off this stuff. Delicious and always fresh; it just takes forever for an order to be completed, although understandably so. Order about 45 min. to an hour early and you'll be happy.

Sitting inside that restaurant while starving, watching the chef painstakingly slice every millimeter of fish served to the three girls who ordered right before you, for a full half hour, is torment... And I can only imagine it's worse when you've tasted the Una-Avo once and know how unbelievable it is. I also ordered the chef's special vegetarian rolls, which... More

Discovered this place last year and have been a regular customer ever since, coming in just about every week. Service is always friendly at this father and son eatery. Sometimes the grandfather helps out too. We always get take out and on weekends you may have a 30 minute or longer wait. Never fear as it's always worth waiting for!... More

I just don't think sushi should be made with brown rice. It was just too different for me.

I'm not an expert on sushi, but I think it's the best I've had in the area, and it's pretty inexpensive! Don't be scared by the fact that it looks like a complete hole...or maybe we should be?

A little hard to find, but worth the search. I lived here a year settling for overpriced "pretty good" sushi until a neighbor told me about Homma's. It is great sushi at a great price. I have to go there at least once a week.
