Description: Since its opening in 1974, prime steaks and martinis have never gone out...
Since its opening in 1974, prime steaks and martinis have never gone out of style at this Palo Alto institution. The atmosphere is very clubby with fireplaces, dark wood, sports memorabilia and plush leather booths tucked into the many nooks throughout the dining room. Famous for their slow-roasted prime rib & hand-cut U.S.D.A Prime Steaks, they also offer fresh seafood, cold water lobster tail & succulent shellfish. The 23 oz. Bone-In Rib eye Steak is the "Boss' Favorite" while the Double Cut Filet Mignon runs a close second. Sundance is respected for serving the best food money can buy coupled with value & simplicity – a welcome relief for serious food & steak aficionados. The menu is supported by an award-winning wine list that features over 400 selections focusing on highly allocated Napa Valley Cabernets & Sonoma Pinot Noirs. Exceptional ratings & numerous restaurant awards rank Sundance the Steakhouse as a true dining destination.

Old School At Its Best

Great old school style steakhouse & service. Decor is dated but in a tasteful way with lots on unique NoCa sports memorabilia. Food is on point and plentiful portions

Celebrated friend's Birthday dinner. Service is very good, food is fresh and appetizing. Drawback too loud and too dark

We went at 5:45 for sunset dinner set with a discount. The prime rib was terrific and there is a value kids menu for 10 and under with a thick piece of steak. It even included a vanilla fudge ice cream. Remember to go early to get a parking space.

Nice place but I would not say that it is in my top 5, but nonetheless, we enjoyed it. Svilars in Hudson Wyoming or Vic and Anthony's definitely are better.

We have been going to Sundance for years and have every reason to keep going back. Their food and service are both top notch, the prices on the main menu a bit high. For that reason we generally go for the Early Bird menu, which they offer if you are seated by 6:00 p.m. It comes with soup or salad... More

This is a great place. Food is beyond expectations and service is perfect. Try the house special roasted rib. The place has character.

It is busy here for a Monday night. The place is packed, so I am sitting at the bar. Then bartender is super friendly even though he is really busy. The meal starts with them providing a basket of sourdough bread with butter- omg the bread is HOT. I have to let it cool before I can take a taste.... More

Well-appointed steakhouse. Needed a short while to adjust to the low lighting in the restaurant. The tuna sashimi and oysters were very good. The prime rib was excellent and served with delicious baked or garlic mashed potato and vegetables. Ordered a decent quality wine from a reasonable wine list to match. A relatively better value early bird dinner was available... More

The dim light, the classic deco and the cozy atmosphere are exactly what I expect from a nice steakhouse. The steak is why we are here and it's really really good. Appetizers (especially the fried mushroom) and the pasta are all very nice. The waitress with us is a big plus! Her big smile and witty talk made us feel... More
