Description: Since its opening in 1974, prime steaks and martinis have never gone out...
Since its opening in 1974, prime steaks and martinis have never gone out of style at this Palo Alto institution. The atmosphere is very clubby with fireplaces, dark wood, sports memorabilia and plush leather booths tucked into the many nooks throughout the dining room. Famous for their slow-roasted prime rib & hand-cut U.S.D.A Prime Steaks, they also offer fresh seafood, cold water lobster tail & succulent shellfish. The 23 oz. Bone-In Rib eye Steak is the "Boss' Favorite" while the Double Cut Filet Mignon runs a close second. Sundance is respected for serving the best food money can buy coupled with value & simplicity – a welcome relief for serious food & steak aficionados. The menu is supported by an award-winning wine list that features over 400 selections focusing on highly allocated Napa Valley Cabernets & Sonoma Pinot Noirs. Exceptional ratings & numerous restaurant awards rank Sundance the Steakhouse as a true dining destination.

Known as an excellent steakhouse, we enjoyed two wonderful fish and seafood offerings there. I've been going to Sundance for over 40 years (guess I'm getting old), and the consistency of the product never ceases to amaze me. There is no better place in the Bay Area to enjoy a prime rib or steak. The food is exceptional. The service is typically superb. The atmosphere is elegant. And you may even encounter a local... Food, service, drinks, and ambiance, the Sundance is always on the top of its game. We constantly take visiting friends there and no one has ever been disappointed. Our favorite place to dine with friends or just a night out for the two of us.

Easy to find and ideally located on Palo Alto El Camino Real road, Sundance potentially offers a too limited parking place compared to their popularity some days... So don't come too late or you may have to wait for a spot and then for a table. The menu is very traditional and in line with what you can expect from... More

Great martinis and lovely hostesses have always been the hallmark of the PA institution. Unfortunately, the meat is not even close to prime-level and the standard set by like priced steak restaurants in respect to quality and preparation. The prime rib (a favorite of mine) is a good staple, but has been less than tender and overcooked on the last... More

What a great restaurant. We had a group of five for my dads birthday. Very cool "classic" atmosphere inside with the booths. We sat at the booth with the fireplace across from the table. I would recommend this booth if you can get it. The steaks were fantastic along with the side dishes.

this is a classic steakhouse. lots of food, excellent service, but be warned, its on the expensive side. appetizer portions are large, the tempura mushrooms were cooked perfectly and delicious. huge wine list, and the waiters are knowledgeable. my only complaint is when the restaurant is full (always) the noise level is really high. for a great steak this is... The food is good. (if you want steak, bring your kid (feed him at home) then get him to order steak from kids menu, same size, same quality but cheaper). Too dark to see the menu and really loud.
