Description: Since its opening in 1974, prime steaks and martinis have never gone out of style at this Palo Alto institution. The atmosphere is very clubby with fireplaces, dark wood, sports memorabilia and plush leather booths tucked into the many nooks throughout the dining room. Famous for their slow-roasted prime rib & hand-cut U.S.D.A Prime Steaks, they also offer fresh seafood, cold water lobster tail & succulent shellfish. The 23 oz. Bone-In Rib eye Steak is the "Boss' Favorite" while the Double Cut Filet Mignon runs a close second. Sundance is respected for serving the best food money can buy coupled with value & simplicity – a welcome relief for serious food & steak aficionados. The menu is supported by an award-winning wine list that features over 400 selections focusing on highly allocated Napa Valley Cabernets & Sonoma Pinot Noirs. Exceptional ratings & numerous restaurant awards rank Sundance the Steakhouse as a true dining destination.

What a great restaurant. We had a group of five for my dads birthday. Very cool "classic" atmosphere inside with the booths. We sat at the booth with the fireplace across from the table. I would recommend this booth if you can get it. The steaks were fantastic along with the side dishes.

Great service. Wonderful Prime Rib and Steaks! Interesting wine list. They also offer early dining specials. Full Bar, on-site parking.

this is a classic steakhouse. lots of food, excellent service, but be warned, its on the expensive side. appetizer portions are large, the tempura mushrooms were cooked perfectly and delicious. huge wine list, and the waiters are knowledgeable. my only complaint is when the restaurant is full (always) the noise level is really high. for a great steak this is... The food is good. (if you want steak, bring your kid (feed him at home) then get him to order steak from kids menu, same size, same quality but cheaper). Too dark to see the menu and really loud.

Great dining experience and food was excellent! Sundance really Only has two drawbacks; First INCREDIBLY limited parking (and I mean Limited). Must be grandfathered in On code compliance for parking or something like that. It's obvious the neighborhood got tired of the parking since the street is blocked as well. Second, just too popular, even lunch can be a wait,... More

I booked a 15 person dinner to entertain a bunch of clients who were doing a journal club. Restaurant was very accommodating. Everything was ready when we got there and service was top notch! It's been a while since I have had this type of service. Rather than cutting down the menu with a large group we were given the... More

Sundance has been around for almost 40 years I think, and has rightly earned its reputation for consistent quality in service, attention, food and ambience. Not the flashiest of places and not the most expensive cuts of steak you will find in the Bay Area (go to Alexanders for that) but consistently good and well prepared. My wife and I... More
