Great option for Japanese Food in Palo Alto - pleasant surprise

The bay area is heavily populated by mediocre Japanese restaurants. I had not been to Fukisushi in over 10 years - the last time for a lunch that was OK but did not impress. My family and I visited last night (a Saturday) after making a reservation on our way from the SF Airport. I was very... read more

Yes the menu is a bit overpriced but this is the best sushi you'll have outside of Japan. I go there at least twice a week and absolutely love it!!

It was my first time visit to the Fuki Restaurant. It was reasonable, variety in lunch menu set, and staff were overall kind. Japanese Style interior design allowed a calm environment, and easy to talk and listen to each other. I went there to meet a local Scientist who said her family loves Fuki Sushi. There were... More

Went here for a business dinner. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. We had a separate room which was nice. Still a bit loud, but it allowed us to have easier conversation. Often vegetarian sushi is boring and offers little variety. That wasn't the case here. There were probably 10 different vegetarian rolls and the variety of ingredients was very good.... More

This place offers very nice combination of Sushi and more to enjoy in a group. Staff was friendly and services were great. But beware of security warnings in the parking lot. We had one of our cars window-shuttered and broken and laptops in the trunk stolen.

This is a restaurant where I was introduced to sushi. I'm not an adventurous eater, but did try some sushi varieties outside my comfort zone. All were good. The sushi here is totally fresh. It is well presented and melt in-your-mouth delicious. I have eaten several other dishes here and in every case they were well prepared, very fresh, and... More

Arrived late in Palo Alto on Sunday evening. Walked down the street to restaurant. The restaurant is large and at the time did not need reservation. They have a large menu with 100's of choices of food, fish and Sake. We a couple of sushi dishes. The fish was fresh and nicely presented. My only negative was that it was... More

Fresh fish, creative menu with all the traditional sushi menu selections as well. I take Japanese businessmen here, they like it, and they should know!

The fish was really fresh. The only weird thing was I had to wait a really long time to sit, and then they finally sat me in this weird dark corner. I had to use my phone to read the menu. I'd go back though.

Everyone talks about the sushi there. Ok, it is good, I agree. But the reason I go there most often is not for the sushi, but for the wonderful Japanese food. There is a large selection of traditional Japanese food of all types. So difficult to find a good Japanese restaurant that serves something other than sushi.
