Good food but terrible billing

Good atmosphere, nice to sit at the bar having a solo meal, the bar tender knowledgeable about all the menu options. The samosa salad was an interesting mix and delicious, and the fiery tofu had just the right kick without ruining the taste. All this whilst sipping on a Palo Alto Brewing Company Hoppy Endings. So good, need to go... More

Being from a European background and for few weeks in Palo Alto, I was keen on trying this Burmese restaurant. It did not disappoint. We had a booking and that's probably a requirement if you're looking to eat at the Rangoon Ruby. The menu has a lot of choice, you can pair your food with a glass of wine. Food... More

My wife and I have been visiting the Palo Alto/Los Altos area for the last week or so....we have had lunch twice now at Rangoon Ruby and were delighted both times. The Samosa soup is one of the most interesting dishes we have ever had --- and the tea leaf salad (their signature dish) and the pad Thai are also... More

Rangoon Ruby has a very lengthy menu and good food. It is defintely a nice place for vegetarians. The salad with tea leaves and nuts were awesome (of course with lemon). The Pad Thai was the best ever I have tasted. The Garlic Noodles was not that great though. They could have some more choices of dessert.

So I've been to a whole bunch of different Burmese restaurants and nothing beats the overall experience of Rangoon Ruby! (Burma Superstar in SF right there with the food and Rangoon Super Stars in Berkeley comes very close with food + service). For starters, probably one of the best for vegetarian food in the Bay. Their tea leaf salad and... More

This was overall a great experience, because the food was great and the service was even better. Yes, it is very cramped, but I didnt mind that at all once the food started to flow in.

Both times I visited this place the experience was pleasant and the food was very good. Wait staff was professional and attentive and eager to explain items on the menu. Best to go at lunch time to avoid a long wait. My only issue is that for the price for entrees that consist mostly of rice or noodles, the portions... More

went to dinner with friends on a Saturday night. place was packed which is a good sign for a restaurant, but when you can barely squeeze into your chair (I am a healthy size 6) and have to yell to speak to friends you have met after a long time, not so much fun. service was timely and the food...
