Solid food and very nice drinks

Liked: Tea leaf salad and basil beef Salad was very fresh and unique dish. Enjoyed it more then expected. Beef was hot and had the right mix of seasoning/spices. Loved the lichee martini and the service. We sat at the bar and these guys were very attentive and drinks were very well made. Not so... read more

We had a business dinner w/ 6 people. Tight quarters (in a good way) but very energetic. Very interesting cuisine with a wide variety of flavors. Reasonably priced wine list. Fun meal w/ shared plates. We had the tea leaf salad, a pumpkin chicken stew, minted jalapeno pork, basil chili beef and shrimp curry. All very different and tasty.

We liked this modern restaurant - the asian food was delicious, we had a Chicken Pad Thai and Shrimp Curry - both excellent. Server was absent most of the meal but fortunately we did not need her until the end. And it took forever to get the check - but all in all we were very happy.

Upon entering Rangoon Ruby we were greeted by the lovely Esther who worked hard to secure our party of three a table despite our not having a reservation. The restaurant was crowded even on a Monday evening so be sure to call ahead and make a reservation. The staff was extraordinary. Ashley, our server was delightful and offered many wonderful... The large number menu choices made it very hard to decide what to eat. While trying to decide, sipping the water infused with cucumber was very refreshing. The service was laso very good. The Mango Chicken (with rice) was really good. The fresh mango served with it was not quite ripe, but that didn't stop me form eating it. My... More

I really love the Tea Leaf Salad and Coconut Rice. It was my first try for Burmese Cuisine and I really liked the taste and I would love to visit it again and again.

One of the better Burmese restaurants in the area with good and efficient service. All items on the menu sounded great and we ordered many items. The Palata/Multi-layer bread served with coconut chicken was average. Roti Canai in Malaysian places is slightly better. Quantity served is good enough for a party of 3 or so. Order two if more people... More

Wonderful Burmese food. For starter, the Palata, which is a sort of crispy layered pancake, was excellent. The Lahpet Thoke, a salad of marinated tea leaves, with an eclectic mix of unusual flavors and textures, was terrific. The sautéed eggplant with scallions and garlic was also very nice. Highly recommended.

We found Rangoon Ruby last December when we came to Palo Alto/Los Altos to visit our daughter and her family and I wrote a very positive review at that time. Since then we had the great fortune to make our third visit to Myanmar/Burma and now we are once again visiting in Northern CA and we wasted no time in... More

The owner/manager? is always so attentive and aims to please. I've been here 3 or 4 times and he's always there running the show. I've had meals I wasn't particularly fond of but also really amazing ones. It isn't a cuisine I'm familiar with so I love to try different dishes. I love their coconut rice. I could eat a... More
