Sprout is a classic standby for a quick, casual weeknight bite in PA. When they get it right, they nail it. In general, the service can be a bit spotty, as its not a traditional "restaurant" setup and it can... More

When I complained about the service at this restaurant the very thin blond woman with the excessive eye make up and knit cap behind the counter told me "If you don't like the service, don't come back!" then she walked away (Yes, she did!). Frankly, never mind her lack of professionalism, no way would I eat here again after what... More

At first it seemed like too much work. When you walk in you see a pile of clipboards from which you pick the ingredients for your salad. But sometimes you just don't want to think that hard. Luckily they have some salads on the menu already so you can make a choice from one of those. I ordered from the... More

The idea behind sprout is great - you make a salad by selecting the ingredients you want from a fairly large list. Some items are included in a general price (e.g., small or large salad), some additions cost extra. The food tasted great and the large salad is pretty large (a good meal!). The only thing is that this place... More

You are supposed to order food from the counter, pay, then find a table and wait for your food to be served. Their system doesn't work so well. The place was busy, and tables where in high demand. They only had one person working the floor. He was supposed to deliver the food and bus the tables. Patrons wound up... More

Definitely pop in here if you need to get your salad fix on. Everything is customizable by filling out a form with your selection of items for the salad. Lots to choose from and both times I've been here the salads have been delicious. It gets SUPER busy for lunch time so think about getting there early or doing your... More

This was our second visit to Sprout, and we found it just as tasty as we did last time. This is the ultimate for personalized salads, and even people who aren't crazy about salads would likely find something here that they'd enjoy eating. You fill out a slip of paper to check off what you want in your salad, and... More

Right in the heart of downtown Palo Alto, this cafe offers a huge variety of salads and salad fixings. You can either choose one of their standard salads or create your own from a mind-boggling array of ingredients. It is obviously a popular place with long lines at standard mealtimes .

Ordered a Kyoto salad (peppered crusted ahi tuna, mixed greens, wakame seaweed, somen noodles, firm tofu, nori, edamame, kaiware sprout, carrots, sesame seeds, miso sesame dressing) and a Davy salad (poached salmon, arugula, avocado, sweet corn, aged sharp white cheddar, candied walnuts, shaved fennel, red onions, sesame ginger dressing) on two separate visits. Both salads were ample in size, flavorful... More

The cafe allows you to order item by item ingredients for your salad. Theres is a huge selection to chose from. The items are very fresh and tasty. You can watch as the staff prepare your salad and it is done in short time. The atmosphere in the cafe is comfortable, clean and inviting. The food is very healthy and... More
