Spectacular Israeli Food on University Avenue

On a recent trip to Palo Alto , we ate at Oren’s and can’t stop talking about it. We arrived early for dinner, because the restaurant fills up quickly. But even if there is a wait, don’t pass them by, because it’s worth the wait. The pita is freshly made - get both white & wheat. The Sampler Sides... read more

As an Israeli I can say that in Oren's Humus you get the real Israeli experience. The Hummus and all the sides are great and authentic. The Pitas, Falafel, Lemonade are all fantastic. Prices are fair, service is very good and the whole experience worth waiting in line 10 min or so. Enjoy!

We enjoyed the hummus, with fresh bread so much! The hummus included fresh beans (black and garbanzo), and it was so delicious. One in the party enjoyed the sabich pita (vegetarian) while the other had the chicken pita on whole wheat, and it was loaded with fresh cucumbers! We had a side of falafel. It was much more food than... More

I've been twice. When two of us went for lunch, we just walked in and were seated immediately, though we were next to others at one of the communal tables, which form the bulk of the seating available. When I returned with a larger group for dinner a few months later (during Parents' Weekend admittedly), we had to wait about... More

loved the food and atmosphere here. The falafel was crunchy but moist on the inside, the baba ganouche was smoky but not too much, the beets were great, the salad was fresh and the sweet potatoes were good. Wanted to try so much more. Will definitely be back!

Our waiter warned us that we two had ordered too much with an appetizer sampler, hummus entree, falafel sandwich and shakushka. Little did he know... All of the above was excellent, I think the marinated carrots and beets in the appetizer sampler might have actually stolen the show. Regardless, we were more than happy. You probably won't be blown away... More

Delicious fresh food served by helpful friendly staff. This fine local restaurant offers a wide range of favorites. We ordered a lot of different things so we could sample and were not disappointed. Our party included a five year old who agreed that this was a great lunch stop!

This place is super crowded, which speaks of its virtue as a restaurant. Good service and awesome food. We tried Hummus there and they were really very good. I am no expert in Hummus but I could say that their hummus were not dry as I have tried in other places. They were pretty smooth and palatable. The portions are... More

We have never had a meal at Oren's that wasn't terrific. My husband thinks the falafel and hummus are the best. I love the chicken skewers, with hot sauce. And the pita bread. I am not supposed to eat gluten, but sometimes I break down. It is soft, luscious and tasty. Of course, you have to plan your trips, since... More

Always packed so for lunch -try to go around 11 am as opposed to 12 or 12.30pm. We had an amazing lunch here with my colleagues for my birthday. The chicken was so so delicious and the mushroom hummus was my favorite. Its packed and also they try to get you out of the door with the waiters giving you... More
