Top Notch Food and Service

Had lunch here while visiting my daughter who is working at the Stanford University Medical Center. As far as the food and service goes you will be hard pressed to find better. Be prepared to pay for it though. Three adults and one 9 year old girl: we had two BLTs ( one On sourdough and one on... read more

While we have eaten at Mayfield's plenty of times for dinner, I recently enjoyed a great breakfast there. Eggs poached to perfection and two, thick slices of applewood smoked bacon, fried crispy like they should be. Toast, because of the bakery next door, was fantastic, as was the homemade jam to smear on top. Yummy.

I have been to the Mayfield twice this month, once for lunch and once for breakfast. There is never anything on the menu that looks appetizing. Choice mainly look bizarre. And everything is overpriced. If I want two eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast I am better off at Joanie's. At Mayfield the bacon is impossible to chew, and the potatoes... More

Had a great Saturday lunch here. Many around us were still having brunch after 2pm. We had one of the pizzas and salad. Both were very fresh and delicious. The bread from their bakery was excellent.Everything we saw looked very good!

I will not argue that they use quality local ingredients. However, they are overpriced for what you get. The oatmeal (10) was so soft and tasteless that the great toppings could not save it. The camino special is great but so tiny for the money. You have to ask for everything, butter, jelly, ketchup etc. Be prepared to not be... More

Ok. I don't live in Palo Alto so perhaps I'm not used to their prices but I live in L.A. so I thought it would be similar. That said, everything was delicious and the service was good. My friend and I both had the frittata ($12 I think) which was unusual in that it had a variety of herbs--basil, dill,... More

Not sure how anyone with a hearing deficit could Function here. Weekend crowds are a joke. Service is very friendly and helpful, although slow to a fault. Food generally good, by can leave you hungry. Bread is beyond delicious.

Not what you would expect from a local bakery. Unique pairings of fresh vegetables and wonderful bakery items to create mouth watering choices. Never had such a wonderful pairing with kale and beets in a salad. Warm chocolate chip cookies for dessert were just the perfect topping.

Dropped in here for breakfast with my wife on the way to a doctor's appointment (Asthma not gastroenterology!). The food was awful. The coffee was awful and cold. Nobody cared. Why don't they close the place down they would be doing themselves and everybody else a favor! The bacon was tasteless and underdone. We had to send it back for... More

We had a large table for lunch with reservations. We were seated immediately. The table was a large booth with chairs, very nice. Our server was prompt and professional. Our drink order taken right away, on to the food. We had burgers, chicken salad, salmon. All food was delish and plenty of it. There is a bakery next door if... More
