I come to Palo Alto for work almost weekly. And I have lackluster food reviews to date. I was recommended to another restaurant in this complex and it was closed for a private event. So I went to Yelp and found this place. I am surprisingly happy I did so. I ordered the gnocchi with brussels sprouts and it is... More

Coffee is ok but a bit on the bitter side. Staff very nice. Pastries good but not totally outstanding. I would still go back though to give it another chance someday.

The Mayfield Bakery has two faces: a bakery and a cafe. The bakery is a blessing to all who live nearby. The bread is excellent, there is not much else to say about it. The cafe is a slightly different story. I had lunch there just twice so I may be somewhat unlucky, but here it goes. Palo Alto is... More

I dined here on a sunday night and had the special, chicken pot pie. It was very good although I did find the portions quite small and hence paying 19 dollars to be excessive. Service was sloppy as I dont think they actually placed a single drink order or starter right, although the mains they did as most actually had... More

We had lunch here recently and my soup was terrific!! Creamy leek & cauliflower with a huge hunk of fresh bread!!! Filling, satisfying and de-lish. We will be returning for sure. I want to try the brunch!!

I love this place, the service, the atmosphere and the menu. It's hard to get a table if you don't plan in advanced, but it's so well located that you can stop by and make a reservation, go out for a walk in the open mall, and they'll call you when the table is ready... what else can you ask... This is not the place to have an intimate conversation, but our nephew suggested it as with his schedule this place fits the bill and he eats here a lot. . You will find that the food is excellent, and parking may be an issue in this shopping center, but locals love it! I had the short ribs with cippolini... More

I really like the Mayfield Bakery and Cafe and want to love it. It's in the Town and Country Shopping Center near Stanford and is very convenient. So what's good? The food I've had has all been excellent. The kitchen is obviously staffed by folks that know what they're doing. Portions can be large (burgers and fries) or small (deconstructed... More

We've eaten at Mayfield a number of times and we've always enjoyed the farm to table fresh ingredients and modern approach to the old time favorites. We also enjoy the coffee, great quality in extra large cups. We always sit outside and enjoy the company of Mayfield's old oak tree, which is a big plus.

We stopped into the Cafe fairly late as to the dinner hour but they treated us great! Had to sit at the Bar since it was busy, but it was a terrific experience. Learned how they work from the hidden kitchen while chickens roasted on a rotisserie between the hidden kitchen and the Bar. Watched the bakers working through the... More
