Solid

Mayfield was our second choice as Calafia Cafe next door was closed for a private event. Turned out to be a solid second choice. Entrees are in the high 10's to the mid 20's. My chicken bread salad was quite good, and my wife enjoyed her red snapper. Nothing to write home about in terms of culinary... read more

I have voluntarily gone on a no sweets, no red meat, no dairy and no refined food and mostly organic diet. Mayfield Bakery and Cafe was a suggestion that my friends made. The restaurant source their food from nearby farms. We made reservations and was shown to a nice booth during busy lunch hours. I ordered the daily farm menu.... More

Because we work at nearby Stanford, we eat at Mayfield for both lunch and dinner often. Although the restaurant itself is pleasant, the food and the service have been sliding down hill and we're looking for a replacement. Example: we had lunch there a couple of days ago. The waiter asked us if we were ready to order at least... More

We ate here while in Palo Alto for the weekend. We took a table outside. The food was good. The waiter was not. No coffee refills, no offer of cream or sugar and the tables that were seated after us got their orders first... We had to go into to the cafe to ask for the check after sitting in... More

this is a relaxed place to have brunch or lunch with friends. the food is interesting, satisfies even the appetites of teens ..wait staff is very accommodating. food is reasonably priced. i really like brunch outside. Inside gets very noisy...too noisy so make a reservation ahead to be outside. beware...on Stanford game days the whole shopping area is packed and... More

This place was my favorite of the entire trip. The bacon alone was to die for. Excellent breakfast. Opens at 8 am. Yum!

Mayfield has the best bread in Palo Alto! . In addition the restaurant is a great place for lunch both in terms of the evolving menu and menu variety. The warm olive appetizer is a personal favorite. Their next door cafe offers excellent espresso based drinks, cakes, breads and small treats.

I went to mayfield bakery the other day with my mom for lunch. The place was packed both inside and outside. Judging by the size of the crowd I thought that the food would be excellent. The ambience of this place is great along with very polite and great staff but the food fell off my expectation level. It was... More

Dinner menu is short but interesting. However both our dishes arrived cold and not very tasty. Mediocre service. Very noisy. Won't return. Good location, easy parking.
