Back in Good Form

Having given this local favorite a one thumb down on TripAdvisor after a visit last year, I was happy to have a much better experience at a luncheon this week. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, who put together the fact that I remembered her name (Molly) because that is the name of one of our... read more

This restaurant is well located, nicely done, carefully managed, but it needs better food with less creativity. Facinated by the promise of fusion dining, I ordered the duck dumplings and the shaking beef chow mein. The 5 small Asian inspired dumplings had no distinquishable taste of duck, ginger, nor scallions as described; at $11 it was a shameful bust. I... More

This "creative" cuisine borders on bizarre food combinations that are seasoned too blandly for my taste. My spouse and I and another couple ate here Saturday night. While the ladies seemed to dig their dishes (identified after many previous mediocre visits), there seem to be many misses on the menu. My cold pork with spinach featured a lump of guacamole... Appetizer tempura was great..It was not heavy at all. Vegetables were crisp. I cant say the same for entrees. Spicy dragon bowl was okay, very bland. My husband did not like the veggie burger he ordered. The place was a bit pricey, but taste not so great. I guess it comes with being in Palo Alto

We visited this restaurant over the lunch hour without a booking, and were placed up close to the kitchen from where we could see the kitchen staff in action. Despite the extra buzz at these ring-side seats, we still enjoyed two great meals and great service from the personnel. We killed some time between courses by taking the trivia questions... More

Calafia does an excellent job of offering a full selection of both meat and vegetarian options. The menu is extensive, yet each dish is thoughtful and delicious. Most recently my mom and I went for lunch, and shared the beet quinoa salad (gorgeous red, tasty, and healthful) and a chicken burger. I'd never had the chicken burger, and I was... More

Hidden in the Town & Country shopping center, Calafia is owned by the chef who used to feed Google. The menu is very inventive and vegetarian-friendly. While the prices are higher than for most nearby lunch joints, the quality and variety of interesting dishes deserve it.

First the negative...it's a bit loud...that's it We arrived and were promptly seated and and the waiter came over. It was second visit for many in our party and he not only remembered us but what had been ordered a few days ago. It was my first visit and he introduced himself and explained the menu. He suggested the fish... More

Looking for a different menu? Come to Calafia. The food is fresh, great and innovative. The menu has lots of interesting options including organic for a vegitarian. They also serve organic meats. Full bar as well. It's worth it!
