I love salmon burgers and found a delicious one here!

I stopped by here for an early dinner with a family member and really enjoyed the casual atmosphere and décor. Our food was very good and the burger was so filling I had to give up on eating some of the bun and just finish the burger. The fries were probably hand cut and we were way too full... read more

Chef Ayers made an amazing multi-course dinner for us and it prompted the group to schedule the next dinner outing at his restaurant Calafia Cafe. The food and service were underwhelming, unfortunately. Chicken tacos, duck dumplings and pizza were bland. Ribs were a bit tough, not the tender, fall-of-the-bone, kind of ribs we were expecting. Overall a disappointment. This restaurant... More

The people who took me to Calafia eat there all the time. They were shocked to run into an overflow card, but we got a table after a very short wait. Unfortunately the staff, though friendly, was overworked and slightly slow. The wait was worth it. I look forward to going back.

I had a fabulous kale salad with a fabulous vin. dressing...nice wine (though a little stingy with the pour). service was just perfect. skip the molten lava cake. beautiful but mediocre taste/texture with a very high price...$12! but overall, a lovely dinner...not really a romantic place, lots of families and pretty loud. but, would go back for the salad &... Great shaking beef kale salad and casual outside dining. We had 2 convenient meals at this outdoor mall restaurant. Service was good and the food was prepared and presented well. This is not a destination restaurant but a very comfortable place to dine at the Town and Country Village.

I've been eating here pretty consistently for nearly 3 years - it is one of my favorite places in Palo Alto for brunch on the weekends or dinner anytime. I prefer to sit at the counter to watch all of the food being prepared. There are a variety of menu items to appeal to the carnivore, locavore, vegetarian, vegan, and... More

A regular spot for me as a frequent visitor to Palo Alto, Calafia is a dream for those who are gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, etc. but still want a variety of tasty options. This is the best of "healthy" comfort food with a very large menu of choices, and something for everyone. I have never had a bad meal here, and... More

A treat. Great food!! I had the Kale and pomegranate seed salad....it was great. The garlic noodles were OUTSTANDING....since I love garlic. :-) The pumpkin moose was overpriced but EXCELLENT!! YUM! I think $11. Too high for any dessert. Server was very friendly and service was great! The menu is interesting to say the least. Must visit to have a... More

We are in Palo Alto visiting our kids/grandkids and had lunch at the Calafia Cafe. After cooking for Christmas, we were looking for a relaxing luncheon restaurant and picked Calafia. What a treat. Most of us had salads which were fresh and enticing. The salmon soup was my wife's favorite. The restaurant is pleasant, the service crisp and attentive and... More

Calafia is the neighborhood restaurant to many of the locals. Families might go there for a cosy dinner and may return for breakfast. Professionals, techies, programmers, and students from the high school next door pile up there for lunch. No matter what the reason, it is always a pleasure to go to Calafia. Chef Charlie is a well rounded, talented... More
