Lovely

This restaurant has a great ambiance, with all the vibrant colors and the music you feel like you're on a tropical island away from everything. If the weather is nice I recommend sitting outside in the patio. R & I came here on Sunday at around 2 and it was kinda of empty, but who cares! R had... read more

Coconuts offers pretty good Caribbean fare in the heart of downtown. The jerk chicken is particularly good, though it could be a bit spicier. Also delicious are the red beans and rice. And, of course, the rum drinks are a must!

Finally an establishment that knows how to make the Jamaican staples of Rice and Peas, Oxtail Stew and Curried Goat! (Insert sound effects: Angels going "Ahhhhhh" and harps playing in the background). I came across Coconuts while we looking for some place to eat in the Palo Alto area. After many other attempts to find food from home (yaad) from... More

Birthday party dinner for a girlfriend - authentic Jamaican food, specialties are the jerked chicken and pork - we ordered both with plantains and dirty rice, and had a wide variety of the appetizers with Caribbean cocktails! This is my third time here - the place is always very noisy and warm - so if you are eating spicy, hot... More

Great food and service. My only criticism is the noise level. Hate sitting across the table from someone and having to scream at them to make myself heard.

We came here when our other choice place was full, and we'd never been. What a great choice! Coconuts specializes in Jerk Chicken and other Caribbean dishes. I got the Jerk Salmon and was cooked just right. It came with a side of candied plantains and what I called dirty rice (rice mixed with some mashed beans. It was great... More

As a Jamaican who likes to cook, I was very surprised to find this outpost serving delicious and pretty authentic Jamaican food in Palo Alto. Since leaving the area 25 years ago, this is a real improvement. I went with a group of friends and we enjoyed classics such as curry goat and rice n peas that one previously could... More

The food was very tasty. It took a while before our food came, but once it did, it was a taste bud party!

My family and friends live in the Bay Area and rave about Coconuts so on this trip it was a must do. We made reservations for dinner on Friday night and good thing we did because it was packed. Our family of 5 ordered the entrees family-style and had plenty to share. We ordered jerk chicken, jerk salmon, curry shrimp,... More
