This is an active place with friendly service. The food is nothing to rave about but it is hard to be disappointed with it. We enjoyed an early dinner and shared the offerings between us. It is nothing special but it can certainly be a good place to meet with a group of friends for an early casual dinner and... More

This is a truly authentic Caribbean restaurant, and the food is fabulous. The decor and atmosphere are very relaxed and casual. The food is very good, and the servings are generous. My favorite thing on the menu is the plantains. If you love Caribbean food, you'll love Coconuts. I try to eat here every time I visit Palo Alto. I... More

Food was different - mostly kind of greasy - not my style. And the portions were HUGE. The drinks were only OK. But they insisted on leaving the door to the outside open so we were cold and the noise once the place was filled was unbearable.

My family is Jamaican so I rate any restaurant against mymother`s Jamaican cooking - this place delivers excellent food. The oxtail, curry goat, plaintain and jerk wings was all excellent and we did not have to wait too long. The only disconcerting issue was my husband asked for Blue Mountain coffee and a Tia Maria - the waiter had no... More

We liked the guacamole appetizer and the crab dip one too. Everything was different and delicious and the price was right. We just did appetizers and drinks. Worth it. I'd go back for a meal with friends. Service was good.

Cons: Our appetizer plates were dirty and the server brought out food without cutlery. My husband asked for cutlery. None came. My husband had to go and ask *again* for cutlery. Finally, our server brought cutlery. Then our server disappeared. We wanted to order a beer. Waited and waited. Then we asked someone who was cleaning the table next to... More

Been here several times. Food is always wonderful. The salmon is very good, as are the beans and rice that accompany many dishes. Service has usually been good, though there have been exceptions. Gets very noisy in the evening, but isn't too busy or noisy for lunch.

I had some of the best jerked chicken I've ever eaten... and a HUGE portion. So why the title of this review? The $15 chicken came without sides. Given the intensity of the spices, sides are a must, and the $5 rice & beans (more like dirty rice... very few beans) was a terrific compliment.... only now I'm paying $20,... More

Had a nice unrushed family meal. The service was fine but of the various dishes we tried only the ribs were tasty and enjoyable. Vegetables were fresh but chicken was too shredded and did not taste good. Fish was too spiced and did not appeal to me.
