This place rocks! The fish is super fresh - making the texture the best and making the taste incredible. Let's face it, if it taste like fish, it isn't fresh. The place is very small, and it doesn't matter whether the place if full or you're the only one, the wait seems to be the same so we have found... More

When we think of Shogun we think: best quality fish. Masa-san hand selects only the choicest fish himself, everyday at the fish market in L.A. This means he has to be there EARLY - no small feat from Palmdale. He is a true master at preparation and is dedicated to his art. If you love traditional sushi you cannot go... More

One day me and my wife was driving around looking for somewhere to eat. We found Shogun. My wife was like lets try it. Okay we went in. A lil back ground My wife love's Sushi and am not a fan of it. So my wife order some stuff and I stayed with basic. Then I saw how much my... More

It's hard to get the whole family to go to a Japanese place because usually they get crap food while I get Sushi. NOT HERE! EVERYTHING IS PERFECTION! It's been a long time since I have been to a Japanese Restaurant that every dish was expertly prepared. I ordered the California Roll, Yellow Tail, Halibut, and Tuna Sushi (all fresh... More

This is the best sushi I have had in the states. Big Tuna and Tokyo Steak don't offer the same. It's worth the extra for authentic high quality Sushi

Very fresh and very authentic sushi. We ahve eaten at TsuKiji Market in Tokyo and this place is just as good. The owner drives down to the docks to buy his own fish fresh almost daily. It's not a place tha is the easiest to find you arrive and say "really?" After dinner, you may agree that it was worth... More

We have gone to Shoguns for years now and they never fail to provide top quality sushi and service. It is family owned and operated. Masa drives down to LA daily and selects the best fish available for his restaurant. Don't ask him what's good today because in his restaurant it is all good.

Shogun has some of the best sushi I've ever eaten. The sushi chef/owner Masa and his wife do an amazing job. The freshest fish and amazing preparations. I usually leave myself in his capable hands with Omikase. He always creates something to remember--unique and delicious. Don't miss it. Off the beaten path, with no frills--just excellent food and service.

Traditional Japanese at it's best. No crazy rolls with crazy sauces (to cover up the less then fresh fish), just straight forward fresh fish. Masa and his wife have been here for 25+ years. He goes down to L.A. every morning to personally select the fish for that days service. He can tell you what part of the world each... More

This is old-school, fresh, Oh My Goodness it's like Butter, awesome sushi. I've had sushi in plenty of expensive, big-city sushi places, east-coast and west-coast and in Asia, for awesome sushi and sashimi this place contends with the best I've ever had and has remained so for the ten years-or-so I've been in the Valley. The key seems to be... More
