Good food with a nice Mediterranean out door vibe

Scooter the head chef really does well to put together a nice menu. I have to say the food is really good! My main tip is to not sit on the inside as the purple decor in the room just ends up feeling like your in an 80's pop video. However, once you walk thru that decorators nightmare you arrive... read more

We ate here twice in four nights during our recent visit to Palm Springs. What a flashback to another era. Inside, the high-backed leather booths were full, as was the bar, on a Monday night. There was a piano player and bassist playing Sinatra and other oldies. Outside, in the attractive patio area, the long bar and tables were also... More

The servers and staff were all very friendly and accommodating at this venue. The outdoor patio is lovely on a warm night. The place was PACKED on a Sat night when we went. Unfortunately the food massively left something to be desired. The fried goat cheese salad looked and tasted like a wheel of Alouette that had been breaded and... More

We would never have found this restaurant if it wasn't for Tripadvisor. It was a 15 minute walk from our hotel and from the outside I was a bit dubious about it...but as soon as you walk in you realise why people go there. We sat outside and were surrounded by locals, and there was a nice lively vibe without... More

We visited Tropical several times on a recent trip to Palm Springs. We've eaten inside and out before, but prefer the patio. It gets quite noisy, but that's part of the general atmosphere - whipped up by the attentive waiters whizzing amongst the tables. Cocktails are a good size and well made. They're not the cheapest, but I think this... More

I rarely have such a poor experience that I need to vent about it, but this place just baffled me in so many ways. I'll start with the good. Lively spot (although a bit dated), active bar scene, good people watching, hostess was absolutely lovely. Now the bad. Could be argued that server was stoned and looked like he'd been... More

Chose this place while in town on business alone, due primarily to its strong ratings and its proximity to my hotel (Hyatt). This was a fun place that gets three Very's: Very friendly Very fast Very charming Great service all around, food came faster than I expected, and the outdoor patio was quite nice. Great crowd too by the way.... More

Great vibe, great drinks, great food with large portions. Beautiful outdoor setting. Service is excellent and the people watching is top notch. This is our third time at the restaurant and never disappoints!

Great energy, fun retro vibe, incredible food and great service. Our party of 3 ordered 3 small plates and two entrees. We had enough food for 4 lunches the next day. Try to book the patio if you can. You will have a great evening.

This place has the best vibe of any place I've eaten and the food is great too. This is the first 5 star review I've ever given and it's well earned.
