Wildly Overpriced!

Upscale (read pretentious) Chinese. Pleasant decor and ambiance. Food was not bad, but not nearly so good as the person who set the prices thinks it is. Specialty cocktails weak and disappointing. I ordered one fancy drink, a tofu appetizer, and a mid-priced beef entree, and my tab came to $42. I... read more

Wang's in the Desert is an experience! It's a large space that gets crowded and noisy. Very noisy. There is a small bar area by the entrance and a good-sized dining room (dinning room, perhaps?). We waited quite a while to get menus and then after we ordered we waited quite a while for the starters. They came in two... More

After a long absence, we made a reluctant return to Wang's. The food is as mediocre as I remembered it. Disses for the four of us were generally greasy; sauces overly sweet. Far from authentic Asian fusion food. Service swift, which was the best part of the experience.

We had a reservation at 7 PM but we went a little early because they advertised Happy Hour between 3 and 7 PM. "Well drinks" for 2 bucks a piece! Being from the Netherlands, we thought these drinks must surely include domestic beers, but we were wrong! They wanted to charge us 4 dollars for a domestic beer, not our... More

Wang's is a staple in the Palm Springs area. It offers classic Chinese dishes served up using excellent ingredients and attention to detail. While I can't call the dishes "inventive" or "fusion" if you're looking for really good Chinese food (or a good cocktail as many reviewers suggest) than wang's is a great option.

The food was excellent and portions were great. Happy hour was amazing and they had both indoor and heated outdoor seating. Great for a party

Not even poor service can make dining at this gay desert icon an unpleasant experience! Firstly, the bartenders are amazing and attentive. Their professionalism is apparent. This traveler has had the pleasant experience of dining here on numerous occasions over the years. The latest of which was New Year's Eve.A short wait in the bar was not unexpected in the cocktails... We visited for New Year's Eve dinner. It was certainly noisy, so be prepared for that. But the gluten free menu is quite extensive which allowed my husband a number of choices which were both gluten and dairy free. I typically don't like Asian unless it's Thai but there was much less deep fried food than typical Asian restaurants, which... More

I was really surprised to hear people complain about the noise. We did not have that issue and the restaurant was fully booked. Wonderful food, attentive service and the walnut shrimp is to die for. We would definitely go back when we return to Palm Springs.

The food was terrible, the hostess was rude, and the service was bad. All in all, not a memorable experience.
