Don't waste your time going anywhere else for a steak as this place is the best in town! Also the fries are amazing!!!
Pomme Frite has great outdoor seating - covered but still able to enjoy the lovely Palm Springs weather. Excellent for people watching. Service is curt with shades of friendliness, usually reserved for what looks like the regular customers. We were there for brunch and once the restaurant got busy, things got really sloooow. Not like a leisurely brunch slow, either.... More
Went with another couple and after reading all the wonderful reviews was looking forward to some delicious food. The appetizers were excellent as was the dessert. BUT--- the main dishes were fair at best and mine was inedible. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress she offer to replace it and took the meal off of our... More
we had a reservation and seated quickly at a table on the patio by the railing. it is nice as you see everyone walk by, but the downside is that everybody looks in to check out your meal. we had beet salad, house salad, and chicken in a pastry. everything was very good. instead of bringing us a glass of... I have eaten at Pomme Frite twice. The food on both occasions was very good, as well as the service. The last time we went, we were seated about 20 minutes after our reservation and the kitchen was very slow with our main courses. I recommend going early in the week, when they are not so busy.
There is no doubt that there are a lot of French restaurants in the US but not everyone is as French as they would be in France. The food was so-so, the maitre d' extremely rude, and the service very slow. We had made a reservation, showed up on time, and still had to wait over 30 minutes for a table. Not worth the hassle.
We live here full time and I have been looking for a French restaurant in the area but was not overly thrilled with it. This is a French/Belgium restaurant with a varied menu although they did have many Belgium beers to try. We started off with a Caesar salad which we shared and was small and very bland, not the... We had a party of eight for a birthday celebration and chose Pomme Frite because they offer a Steak Tartar appetizer that was deemed good but not exceptional and an excellent French Onion Soup. Other selections were Trout Almondine that arrived without the almond crust (kind of essential to the dish) a Mussels dish, an 18oz Prime Rib Eye that... More
We were the first people in the restaurant for dinner. We were here to celebrate two birthdays, which I mentioned when making the reservation. It was also very obvious that there were birthdays. They did nothing...even when we asked if they had a candle for the profiteroles at the end of the meal. But let's start at the begining... The... More
