I have to say this is probably the best food in Palm Springs. You have to order the Chicken Weinerscnitzel. Yum ! They always have seasonal hand crafted martinis... In summer try the Watermelon martini ...also great wines by the glass and if you sit in the front room you will have a gorgeous view of the mountain. It gets... More

the staff is wonderfully friendly, recognize and gree returning customers in a lovely nice way. the food is wonderful, my husband loves their brussel sprouts salad. this summer they are celebrating an anniversary and their signature schntizel dish is $10.00, probalby the best value around. I had veal, my husband had chicken and we wer both more than happy with... More

The ahi tuna tartar is amazing. I wish the entrees were as exciting, we shared the veal schnitzel, it was dry... very dry! and the salmon wasn't much better, very disappointing. Especially as this was one our favorite places to take our friends. On a high note service is very consistent.

We went there during Restaurant Week and were happy we did. It was busy so we wound up sitting in the bar area but the table was quiet and spacious. The service was excellent, the servers knew just when to appear to clear a plate or serve the next course. The food was wonderful, all very fresh and beautifully presented.... More

We visit Johannes often and always enjoy every dish we have ever been served. The veal or organic chicken schnitzel is the real thing. Austrian style schnitzel is served with the proper accompaniments- cucumber salad, cranberries, roasted potatoes just like in Europe. The brussel sprout salad is yummy with delicate baby leaves, fresh parmesan in a lemony light dressing. sometimes... More

Cannot comment about the food since the 2 times we have tried to go to this restaurant, we have not been able to make it in. The first time Johannes was all booked up - bad on us. The second time we made reservations, when we got there the restaurant was closed - bad on them. I do understand that... More

Server stated specials but forgot to mention there was shrimp surrounding the grilled swordfish. While I am not allergic to shellfish, I don't have an acquired taste for it. Being with guest of 2 others, I decided not to send it back, pushed the shrimp to the side and dealt with it. Over the past few years I have had... More

We've eaten several times at Johannes when visiting Palm Springs, and have been very pleased with the food; the kitchen is definitely one of the best in Palm Springs. On our last visit we both had the duck, which was prepared perfectly and served with red cabbage (one of my favorites that you don't get very often) and bread dumplings... More

This was a mixed experience. The reception was perfunctory if at all, the waitress was very friendly but her English was really limited (and being a non-native speaker myself I find it increasingly irritating that I have to speak Spanish in California if I want to be understood by service staff) and to get more bread or wine was challenging.... This use to be our favorite restaurant for Wienerschnitzel. We do not like fried food and it has always been lightly breaded and fried to perfection without being greasy. The last time there, must have been a new chef, came out heavily breaded and a bit greasy. The Veal Chop special that night was a bit pricy but outstanding. We... More
