Enchanting Palm Springs Splurge

Food was outstanding. Patio atmosphere lit by little white lights was charming. Service was wonderful (albeit disappointingly unimpressed by the unusually ostentatious wine we brought). I didn't have to look at the bill, so I enjoyed every minute.

Overpriced, and stale pastry was a vast disappointment to me. I am generally a happy diner, but they seemed barely interested in the experience from the customer point of view, and I know the bill totaled more than $1,000 for 8 or 9 of us. Not going back.

This is the place to go if you want to impress someone or for a special occasion. You can dine inside or outside in the beautiful tree patio. It is expensive but the food presentation is always with class. The building belonged to Nellie Coffman's son. Nellie was a Palm Springs pioneer and came here in 1914 to open the... More

This restaurant has withstood the test of time, and indeed, our food was worthy of Le Vallauris' reputation. Our waiter was polite, professional -- and perfunctory. He conveyed a vibe of doing his job but not particularly overjoyed at doing it, at least on this evening. It wasn't so much a negative experience but a bit of disappointment it could... More

This is the first French restaurant in Palm Springs and still there today in an old house in the center of town. They do nice group lunches for a decent price. The mower is French, also the maitre d! Lunch or dinner , they are excellent.

Le Vallauris is usually very consistent in quality. The restaurant has been here since the 1970s and is still one of the best gourmet French restaurants in the Desert. The menu varies slightly only seasonally. The menu has featured the items people love and order every time they return. The Caaesar Salad is one of the best. Kadafi shrimp is... More

Some of the best dishes I have ever tasted. Excellent service. Creme Brulee to die for. This restaurant is tucked away at the end of the street just off of Palm Canyon Drive in Downtown Palm Springs. It has a wonderful bar and the outdoor dining is charming. (not in the summer.) It feels as if you have been transported... More

Such a lovely dining experience! Exceptional food, service and setting. The only restaurant in town that was considered for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner a few years ago. Every detail of the meal was perfect and the gazebo setting was magical! I continue to take guests here for lunch and am always delighted!

The food is wonderful. Some of my French friends said that it was some of the best French food they'd had anywhere in the world. The atmosphere is superb and the courtyard is romantic. My only criticism is that the last night I was there some of the staff congregated next to the table I had near the fireplace, and... More

Paul, the owner will always offer a menu of Continental and French cuisine that will be served on time and presented beautifully. Romantic and cozy for lunch or dinner. Excellent Valet Parking service. Charming and a very unusual dining experience.
