Nice Spot for Lunch

Our party of two went for lunch and were seated on the patio which is an enclosed, air-conditioned area next to the small indoor dining room. The chopped cob salad is excellent as is the service. The waiters are very attentive. Prices are mid-range to high. Parking is a real problem. Valet... read more

What a lovely evening we had at Melvyn's restaurant. Fantastic food, fantastic service and all served up within a real old-fashioned environment steeped in history and glamour. This is a hidden gem, and if you would like to sample a taste of what Palm Springs may have been like back in the day, then this is the place for you.... More

Nice piano bar, great old time atmosphere. We went for Valentines' Day which most likely was a mistake. Food was good but of course they were way too busy. We will have to go back during a normal day to see if they improve their service and food selection. Being locals we had heard so much about Melvyn's over the... More

Went in on a Sunday night and the place was hopping with dancing, live music and a tuxedo'd wait staff who took good care of us scruffy tourists. We started with an old fashioned and a gimlet and moved on from there.

This place must be what Palm Springs was all about. Outstanding service by very experienced tux clad waiters witness choreographed moves and steak poivre or creeps prepared table side. Ambiance personified with a fifties vibe that permeates. Restaurant and bar personify the late fifties, and at any moment a star or singer crooner will walk in, be hugged, and take... More

Does not disappoint. Just a wonderful experience. Hidden little jewel, very quaint and quiet. Valet parking. reasonably priced. Dinner started with one of the best little salads, ever. Chopped romaine, heart of palm, artichoke and a cherry tomato with ranch. We ordered Steak Sinatra at our server's suggestion (Robert - he was wonderful). I ordered rare and my guest ordered... Tis is a longtime hideaway of the stars even back in the 50's . The setting is so beautiful and old Palm Springs. Melvyn is one on the pioneers of this town. In the evening there is a bar to enjoy the music. Sunday brunch is excellent. You can park outside the Inn on the street or have valet service.... More

Make sure you go here! We loved our dinner and Robert is a fine waiter! We knew they had lots of classic dishes on the menu and enjoyed everything we ordered. The service is impeccable and the people watching opportunities were magnificent! The property is gorgeous, the setting is romantic and I would love to go back.

We didn't eat in the restaurant but drank a cocktail at the bar - what huge fun - from the Frankie serviettes to the atmosphere and music - enhanced by some old "geezers" at the other end of the bar chatting about the old days - a brilliant trip back in time to the glamour days and I lapped it... Arrive earlier than your reservation to enjoy a seat at the bar and live music. The bartenders are super kind and engaging. The live music really sets the scene for a wonderful evening. When your table is ready, you're brought to your table and a nice gentleman in a tux will be your server. These guys are PROFESSIONAL! The food... More
