I love to visit this restaurant when we come to Palm Springs. I love how they prepare some food table side. You will go back in time at Melvyn's. Take your time and enjoy the ambiance this place has to offer, plus the food is so good.

This is such a nostalgic place and we always have brunch there when we are in the desert. The ghosts of Lucielle Ball, Doris Day, Rock Hudson and Bob Hope inhabit this place as they used to be regulars. It is very traditional and you should try it at least once in your visit.

This was the best all around restaurant we dined at in Palm Spring. Nothing to say but excellent service, food and ambiance. Great for couples, adult families. They have some sort of entertainment every night. You should dress business casual. They do have a no tee shirt code, only shirts with some sort of collar on it for men. My... More

If you've got the time for a slow paced romantic dining experience then Melvyn's is the place for you. Take the time to order at least one entree or desert that is still prepared table side. The rack of lamb for two was perfectly done served with a loved stuffed, broiled tomato, freshly sautéed snow peas and beautifully browned duchess... More

Six friends joined me last evening to celebrate my 74th birthday at Melvyn's. We enjoyed a leisurely 3 hour meal, unhurried, with great service and good food. I did not find the food exceptional, but it was good. The fact that the escargot puff had more walnuts than snails was a little disconcerting, as was the fact that the Oysters... More

Great place to bring out of town guests as well as a nice romantic dinner for two. At first glace you might think "older crowd" but don't let that fool you. Wonderful bar, wait staff excellent and food was great. They have entertainment in the bar and it can get pretty crowded, but everyone is having a great time. I... More

Sunday afternoon's at Melvyn's are great. People have been going there for decades and know each other but still welcoming and friendly to new faces. The music trio is perfect with local artistes guesting. Service friendly, efficient and I thought the prices were reasonable. People there really know how to have a good time!

Old established restaurant in Palm Springs. My only experience is for lunch the Cobb Salad ala Brown Derby is sensational a must have. It is prepared table side without asking for the traditional dressing....blue cheese is standard and the only way to have an original Cobb salad. Fortunately the stuffy dress code has been relaxed for lunch and shorts and... More

This was my second experience with Melvyn's Restaurant with the first being much better. It appears the wait staff is getting tired and just goes through the motions... Though there is plenty of room in this establishment one of the rooms was closed off and everyone was packed into the front half. The wait staff had a hard time getting... More

We had been cruising the PS downtown, enjoying a happy hour or two on a hot summer day…. and then decided to take a little hike to this place. Sunday afternoon and the place is jumping (could hardly find a spot). Brian, the tuxedo clad boss man, was very friendly (a true host) and when asked "why" they were so... More
