Zin American Bistro is an attempt to modernize and Americanize the traditional French Bistro concept. With Zin recently receiving 3 ½ stars and a review of “quite possibly the best food for the money in the Coachella Valley” from author Peter Osbaldeston’s Palm Springs Dining Bible, Chef Nicolas Klontz and wine director Mindy Reed have indeed raised the bar of casual fine dining in Palm Springs. Zin has over 200 wines on their list and has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 5 years. With choices from the Kobe Style Beef Burger ($16) and Mussels & Frites($18) to the Rabbit ($25) or a Prime Hanger Steak ($26) there is something for everyone. Be sure to save room for some house made desserts and a glass of port for a perfect finish. Attentive, friendly yet unobtrusive service with Wine Director Reed available to guide you thru her carefully selected wine list and Chef Klontz greeting diners personally between courses make dining at Zin a night to remember.

Sadly, was not impressed.

I'm only giving this a "Very Good" due to the service, which was awesome. The food however, was not. Chewy old calamari, no thanks. The veal pasta we ordered had odd noodles and flavors that we were not expecting and we are pretty adventurous. I was simply not impressed. In their defense we were... read more

A friend and I stumbled upon this place on the crazy VillageFest night. We were hungry, wanted to stop somewhere and just "felt" that this was going to be a great restaurant. We were right. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. And the food was glorious. Atmosphere was a plus too. We will back next time we are in... More

Looking for a light and delicious dinner, we were not disappointed. The gazpacho special was perfectly sweetened and refreshing. My husband had the wedge salad and he loved it. I tasted it and found the combinations of toppings, which included bacon and Roquefort, presented a delightful flavor. Then we shared the cheese plate which was nicely presented with sliced strawberry,... More

We had a tantilizing experience at Zin, from the welcoming and being seated indoors with a view, to our gracious waiter Dom, we felt at home and enjoyed a relaxing dinner. The rabbit scallopini and the hearty beef stew were both well exicuted and flavorful. Our water glass never empited and cocktails and wine sublime. If you need a place... More

Great food, great staff and a great menu with something to delight everyone's taste. Have never had anything but perfection . A favorite amongst locals who go all the time. Mindy, the Owner supports many causes in the community too.

We went here during restaurant week and the food was great. I especially like the Fig Salad and Creme Brûlée.

I have eaten here in the past and have even written an "excellent" review. I dined here last night during restaurant week and could not believe I was in the same place. The service, the quality of the food and overall experience was horrible. It was so bad I felt I needed to update my review of Zin. My pork... More

We unknowingly visited Palm Springs during restaurant week, so there were some great set menus available from restaurants, showcasing their cuisine. Zin came very close to the best - fantastic service from our waiter, Spencer. The set menu choices offered were excellent and great value. Amazing wine list too. It was clearly a very busy evening for the restaurant, and... More

I wanted to celebrate a special occasion. Unfortunately, this is not the place for that. The appetizers were adequate but nothing special. My dinner companion ordered the steak rare, which came out as ordered but only nominal in taste. I ordered the seafood trio. First I was presented with duck, which I did not order. Three minutes later I was... More

I tried the Roasted Beet salad very good....The Natural Rib Eye with beans and home made Mac and Cheese also very good and the Creme Brule was seriously good.
