Description: Zin American Bistro is an attempt to modernize and Americanize the traditional French Bistro concept. With Zin recently receiving 3 ½ stars and a review of “quite possibly the best food for the money in the Coachella Valley” from author Peter Osbaldeston’s Palm Springs Dining Bible, Chef Nicolas Klontz and wine director Mindy Reed have indeed raised the bar of casual fine dining in Palm Springs. Zin has over 200 wines on their list and has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 5 years. With choices from the Kobe Style Beef Burger ($16) and Mussels & Frites($18) to the Rabbit ($25) or a Prime Hanger Steak ($26) there is something for everyone. Be sure to save room for some house made desserts and a glass of port for a perfect finish. Attentive, friendly yet unobtrusive service with Wine Director Reed available to guide you thru her carefully selected wine list and Chef Klontz greeting diners personally between courses make dining at Zin a night to remember.

We started our meal with a very fresh, traditional Caesar Salad...a wonderful example of this restaurant staple. Instead of an entree, my wife ordered XXX Adult Macaroni And Cheese (creamy fiscalini, white cheddar and truffle oil). It was very good. I chose the Country Fried Chicken, which is bone-in chicken with mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and country gravy. The dish... More

...either in the bar or seated outside for people watching. Our last visit was on Thursday evening when PS has their street market on Palm Canyon. We usually order several of their small plate/appetizers and more often then not the truffled wild mushroom soup. The Bistro bites are always fun as are the veal meatballs served with a simple marinara... More

We were walking down the main street, tired, hot, hungry. It looked appealing with white table clothes and a cool quiet look and name. Sad to say it went down hill from there. The service was incredibly slow, not rude at all, but slow, unorganized, untrained, and we sat quite awhile. The wine came first...warm white...we put some ice in... More

We dined at Zin last night, found it to be one of the better places that are moderately priced. Don't under stand why it is only rated #70 on Trip Adviser. We had a dinner for 3 which we all were very pleased with and the service was good. The mussels were good either for an appetizer or main course... More

The hostess and our waiter (Aaron) were both very friendly and welcoming. We didn't have reservations but were eating on the early side so had our choice of tables. Both the inside and the outside dining areas looked inviting and comfortable. Happy Hour wine prices are usually only available at the bar, but Aaron let me have the Happy Hour... More

Our first visit was on Monday 9/01/14 for cocktails at the bar. The Martini's served were very good and unique. Loved the atmosphere. We decided to return the next night for cocktails and dinner. Zin did not disappoint. Service here was outstanding as were the food and drinks. A definite return here is in order on our next visit to... More

First of all two thumbs up to our server Betty R. She was very attentive and courteous. The dishes are moderately price. The cocktails are amazing. Really enjoyed our dinner and were seated very promptly even though we did not have a reservation. I would definitely eat here again.

I had the prix fix lunch of sea bass. the sauce was wonderfully prepared and the fish was not overcooked as many typically do with sea bass. The blackberry sorbet as a dessert was some of the best I have had anywhere!! i highly recommend this establishment. The service was attentive and courteous. I will be back to try some... More

Visited here in July and found the whole experience to be very good. Wife and myself dined from the fixed menu and both had the wedge salad as a starter followed by veal meatballs and the chicken dish with carrot rice, the mains came out hot , tasty and in decent sized portions. The service was also very good with... More

We eat at this restaurant now and then as the food and service are typically good. I am typically not happy with most restaurants and mostly they are mediocre at best. Yesterday I understood why I keep going back to this restaurant. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left the experience was wonderful. The hostess was... More
