Zin American Bistro is an attempt to modernize and Americanize the traditional French Bistro concept. With Zin recently receiving 3 ½ stars and a review of “quite possibly the best food for the money in the Coachella Valley” from author Peter Osbaldeston’s Palm Springs Dining Bible, Chef Nicolas Klontz and wine director Mindy Reed have indeed raised the bar of casual fine dining in Palm Springs. Zin has over 200 wines on their list and has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 5 years. With choices from the Kobe Style Beef Burger ($16) and Mussels & Frites($18) to the Rabbit ($25) or a Prime Hanger Steak ($26) there is something for everyone. Be sure to save room for some house made desserts and a glass of port for a perfect finish. Attentive, friendly yet unobtrusive service with Wine Director Reed available to guide you thru her carefully selected wine list and Chef Klontz greeting diners personally between courses make dining at Zin a night to remember.

First Time At ZIN

We were served by Dominick. Very good service. He heard us mention that we would share the salad & he was kind enough to have two plates made for us from the kitchen. The butter lettuce salad was delicious. I ordered the Veal Meatballs with Spaetzle. My dinner guest had the roasted honey... read more

Had dinner at Zin American Bistro while in the Palm Springs area for a conference this week. I had heard good things about Zin, so was looking forward to trying it. Excellent location--patio dining at its finest--but the food was even better. The foie gras burger was a revalation: the combination of juicy wagyu beef, silky foie gras and sweet... More

After looking over most of the menus of the better restaurants on the Palm Springs strip, I recognized that most of the menus were very similar in content and price. We came to Zin after I was denied into Melvyn's due to the fact I was wearing shorts (we wanted an old school Palm Springs experience) and were seated a... More

We dined at Zin last night and what a great experience. Patio was delightful. The wedge salad was perfect and not overly dressed. The dressing was very flavorful. I had the Honey Roasted Chicken which was very tender and had a wonderful flavor. The desserts were incredible. We sampled a few different ones and I would say the cheesecake was... More

Busy restaurant on Palm Canyon Drive. Service is very good but food is only average. We both had salad and sand dabs which were advertised to be served in a creamy lemon sauce. The sauce was indeed creamy but there wasn't even a hint of lemon. We've been at Zin before and had a nice meal. Perhaps this was an... More

Zin is improving the Palm Springs restaurant scene by consistently serving high quality food with great service. It has been hard to say that about many restaurants in Palm Springs and Zin is leading the small crowd of restaurants raising the bar. I have always enjoyed my meals at Zin and heartily recommend it!

We dine at Zin often and every time we love the food, service and atmosphere. The restaurant is right on the boulevard and in the heart of the action of Palm Springs. Mindy Reed is often there on site and always has a few minutes to speak with the guests. Their menu is fabulous and delicious!

We love Zin. Great food. Impressive wine list. Fabulous owner involved in the community. They serve only organic, humanely raised meat.

I love ZIN, as a local we have many places to choose from but ZIN is always a place that has fresh & flavorful food. I love how you can just go alone and sit at the bar and order or go with a group of people and just have a great experience. It's always guaranteed to be a great... More
