Zin American Bistro is an attempt to modernize and Americanize the traditional French Bistro concept. With Zin recently receiving 3 ½ stars and a review of “quite possibly the best food for the money in the Coachella Valley” from author Peter Osbaldeston’s Palm Springs Dining Bible, Chef Nicolas Klontz and wine director Mindy Reed have indeed raised the bar of casual fine dining in Palm Springs. Zin has over 200 wines on their list and has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 5 years. With choices from the Kobe Style Beef Burger ($16) and Mussels & Frites($18) to the Rabbit ($25) or a Prime Hanger Steak ($26) there is something for everyone. Be sure to save room for some house made desserts and a glass of port for a perfect finish. Attentive, friendly yet unobtrusive service with Wine Director Reed available to guide you thru her carefully selected wine list and Chef Klontz greeting diners personally between courses make dining at Zin a night to remember.

Lunch X 2

Went to Zin twice for lunch during a 5 day stay. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Service both times was attentive and friendly. We look forward to returning next visit to PS.

Great Wine List, Great Ambiance, the food was fantastic and the outside patio seating is wonderful. It's very cozy and a great place to take friends or a date!

My wife and I love to people watch during a meal. That's part of the fun of dining out. This is especially so in Palm Springs because of the ethnic, racial and just, plain character mix of the people who dine at the same facility or pass by on the street. If you object to dining with gays, transgenders or... More

We had lunch, the food was great! The truffle mushroom soup was amazing. There is a variety of salads and sandwiches. The fried blue cheese stuffed olives were great. They have a great wine list and fun drinks!

My son and I happened upon this restaurant during the Thursday night Palm Springs street fair. One of the main reasons we chose it was availability of tables. Service was great, overall. Oysters on the half shell were fresh and fairly good (considering one is in the desert, after all). Filet mignon was FANTASTIC. My son had the $38 foie... More

This was my first visit, but it will not be my last. The service was excellent and the waiter took the time to go over the most popular dishes and tell us what dishes we should share. I ordered fish and I am particular about how it is cooked. My request was taken and it was prepared perfectly. We had... More

This was my first time in palm springs, and we passed by Zin while walking the main street of downtown. Upon being seated on the patio (which is excellent people watching), we were greeted by our cheerful waiter, Dominic. The menu was overwhelming, as everything sounded delicious, but we eventually settled on a perfect order. My dad and I split... More

Had dinner at Zin American Bistro while in the Palm Springs area for a conference this week. I had heard good things about Zin, so was looking forward to trying it. Excellent location--patio dining at its finest--but the food was even better. The foie gras burger was a revalation: the combination of juicy wagyu beef, silky foie gras and sweet... More

After looking over most of the menus of the better restaurants on the Palm Springs strip, I recognized that most of the menus were very similar in content and price. We came to Zin after I was denied into Melvyn's due to the fact I was wearing shorts (we wanted an old school Palm Springs experience) and were seated a... More

We dined at Zin last night and what a great experience. Patio was delightful. The wedge salad was perfect and not overly dressed. The dressing was very flavorful. I had the Honey Roasted Chicken which was very tender and had a wonderful flavor. The desserts were incredible. We sampled a few different ones and I would say the cheesecake was... More
