Description: Zin American Bistro is an attempt to modernize and Americanize the traditional French Bistro concept. With Zin recently receiving 3 ½ stars and a review of “quite possibly the best food for the money in the Coachella Valley” from author Peter Osbaldeston’s Palm Springs Dining Bible, Chef Nicolas Klontz and wine director Mindy Reed have indeed raised the bar of casual fine dining in Palm Springs. Zin has over 200 wines on their list and has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 5 years. With choices from the Kobe Style Beef Burger ($16) and Mussels & Frites($18) to the Rabbit ($25) or a Prime Hanger Steak ($26) there is something for everyone. Be sure to save room for some house made desserts and a glass of port for a perfect finish. Attentive, friendly yet unobtrusive service with Wine Director Reed available to guide you thru her carefully selected wine list and Chef Klontz greeting diners personally between courses make dining at Zin a night to remember.

As you walk along Palm Canyon Drive one is spoilt for choice at the many brightly (and a few dully) lit restaurants. We had been in the States for a several days already and we're looking for something a little different. I think we found it when we stumbled upon Zin. It does look a bit like a Bistro, far... More

Finally a Restaurant that remembers that cooking and service is an art instead of buying their food pre-made from some sad frozen food distributor. We had PEI mussels that were fresh in a white wine sauce. The rabbit was lovingly prepared, cooked perfect in a fabulous mustard sauce. I rarely eat dessert but the cheesecake was awesome. All told, the... More

Sat at the bar with a friend during happy hour, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and great happy hour menu - well priced wine (and no sacrifice of flavour!) and some lovely bar snacks - we had the cheese plate and Zin bites (so glad we queried what these were as probably the nicest bar snacks we've had, at least in... We came upon Zin American Bistro during the Thursday night weekly downtown festival. We love to sit at the bar and decided to have a light bite and a drink. They have one of the best Happy Hour menus I have seen offered which is available at any time at the bar and certain tables. I had an excellent Chardonnay... More

Nice location but a restaurant needs more than that. Had the special available before 6:00. It was so so marginal. Left the restaurant hungry after eating what was offered. Food was passable but no cigar. Hopefully you will find better rare elsewhere.

We were at Street Fest on Thursday night in Palm Springs and chose Zin American to at. It's location is perfect and has a large outside dining area. We had reservations and I recommend them because it is a popular restaurant. The hostess was able to give us a table that gave us a great view of the street so... More

The bistro is located right on South Palm Canyon Drive...and from the white table cloth covered tables you can watch "the world go by". Most Palm Springs restaurants feature "The Wedge" salad-this one is one of the best. The menu isn't huge so it's all done really well....Zin also features an attractively priced Three Course Prix Fixe dinner menu. For... More

We tried out this restaurant and we liked it. My young nephew chose Zin American Bistro so My brother I went for the outdoor patio seating - we enjoyed our lunch while people watching. I had the crispy chicken on a very thick chabbata bread (way too much bread - I prefer a seeded bun or brioche bun) the waiter... More

I recently posted a negative review on another restaurant so I figured it was time to post a favorable review of one of the consistent favorites in downtown Palm Springs. I've been going to Zin's every trip out there - most often the first night for just a light burger at the bar, a great drink from Josh the friendly... More
