Description: Zin American Bistro is an attempt to modernize and Americanize the traditional French Bistro concept. With Zin recently receiving 3 ½ stars and a review of “quite possibly the best food for the money in the Coachella Valley” from author Peter Osbaldeston’s Palm Springs Dining Bible, Chef Nicolas Klontz and wine director Mindy Reed have indeed raised the bar of casual fine dining in Palm Springs. Zin has over 200 wines on their list and has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 5 years. With choices from the Kobe Style Beef Burger ($16) and Mussels & Frites($18) to the Rabbit ($25) or a Prime Hanger Steak ($26) there is something for everyone. Be sure to save room for some house made desserts and a glass of port for a perfect finish. Attentive, friendly yet unobtrusive service with Wine Director Reed available to guide you thru her carefully selected wine list and Chef Klontz greeting diners personally between courses make dining at Zin a night to remember.

The bistro is located right on South Palm Canyon Drive...and from the white table cloth covered tables you can watch "the world go by". Most Palm Springs restaurants feature "The Wedge" salad-this one is one of the best. The menu isn't huge so it's all done really well....Zin also features an attractively priced Three Course Prix Fixe dinner menu. For... More

We tried out this restaurant and we liked it. My young nephew chose Zin American Bistro so My brother I went for the outdoor patio seating - we enjoyed our lunch while people watching. I had the crispy chicken on a very thick chabbata bread (way too much bread - I prefer a seeded bun or brioche bun) the waiter... More

I recently posted a negative review on another restaurant so I figured it was time to post a favorable review of one of the consistent favorites in downtown Palm Springs. I've been going to Zin's every trip out there - most often the first night for just a light burger at the bar, a great drink from Josh the friendly... More

The food was pretty average, but the wait service and wine selection made up for that. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner in a comfortable place.

There are far better places to eat than here, but the service was good and the inside area is quiet and cosy. The food wasn't great, fried chicken was really quite disappointing, very boney and hardly any meat at all. Champagne cocktail was good as was the lemon drop, but the food is definitely not the best, not when you... More

I have been to a lot of restaurants that were better than this one, and a lot that were worse. The service was good - The waiter was attendant and appropriate. There was nothing at all wrong with the food, just nothing to say "wow" about. If you are a tourist and looking for a good place to eat –... More

Excellent food at a reasonable price is very important. But when you couple that with an extraordinary staff of smiling, pleasant servers, you have a dinner to remember. And let's not forget the cherry on top of the sundae, Nicole, the Empress of Zin. She will astound you with her beauty, and impress you with the personalized greeting she offers... More

We started our meal with a very fresh, traditional Caesar Salad...a wonderful example of this restaurant staple. Instead of an entree, my wife ordered XXX Adult Macaroni And Cheese (creamy fiscalini, white cheddar and truffle oil). It was very good. I chose the Country Fried Chicken, which is bone-in chicken with mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and country gravy. The dish... More

...either in the bar or seated outside for people watching. Our last visit was on Thursday evening when PS has their street market on Palm Canyon. We usually order several of their small plate/appetizers and more often then not the truffled wild mushroom soup. The Bistro bites are always fun as are the veal meatballs served with a simple marinara... More
