Zin American Bistro is an attempt to modernize and Americanize the traditional French Bistro concept. With Zin recently receiving 3 ½ stars and a review of “quite possibly the best food for the money in the Coachella Valley” from author Peter Osbaldeston’s Palm Springs Dining Bible, Chef Nicolas Klontz and wine director Mindy Reed have indeed raised the bar of casual fine dining in Palm Springs. Zin has over 200 wines on their list and has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 5 years. With choices from the Kobe Style Beef Burger ($16) and Mussels & Frites($18) to the Rabbit ($25) or a Prime Hanger Steak ($26) there is something for everyone. Be sure to save room for some house made desserts and a glass of port for a perfect finish. Attentive, friendly yet unobtrusive service with Wine Director Reed available to guide you thru her carefully selected wine list and Chef Klontz greeting diners personally between courses make dining at Zin a night to remember.

Very good service and food with an amazing wine cellar.

For a fine dining experience in downtown Palm Springs, American Zin is hard to beat. You can either sit outside next to the sidewalk and be part of the street scene or sit inside in a very nice dining area. Food is very well prepared, service is great and their wine list and extensive cellar is... read more

Service was great. Food was OK. My wife ordered the steak salad which was good. My fried chicken was OK. Sides were boring.

So Sad, Very Bad. Food: Great, Service: Very Good. FALSE ADVERTISING: Amazing. I pass the restaurant every day on a three mile stroll with brings me down Palm Canyon Drive. Every day there is a sign on the sidewalk advertising a Sunday thru Thursday two course dinner and 50% off selected wines. Since my wife and I like a good... More

We've eaten here twice now for brunch and loved it each time. We ate here yesterday and enjoyed the two course brunch. We started with the truffle soup - if you don't order anything else, order this and you'll fall in love right away. I'm a big fan of the bottomless mimosas, and the servers never really let you see... More

Food was great I had the Zin burger with a salad and my hubby had the Mac an' Cheese. He ate every bit of it and raved about it. Didn't even give me a bite. 😕

Stopped for happy hour. Ordered skinny zinny. It was tasty. Did not order food. The establishment was clean and the servers were friendly.

We started with fried olives. What an inventive dish. The olives arrive in a martini glass and are tasty with the blue cheese and a light crust. Our server was very attentive. Enjoyed a great sea bass with glass of Pinto Noir. The sidewalk cafe heaters were good! Took the chill off the night air. Easy walk from our bed... More

Unfortunately, my wife is phobic about spiders and giant ones were in every view. The food was excellent, and our server, Jessica, was most helpful. There were seven of us, and she took care of us all. This is a very popular eating spot in downtown Palm Springs.

Thank you for the 4 star review and for complementing Jessica but I am curious about the spiders because in 12 years I have NEVER decorated for Halloween OR had live or fake spiders in my restaurant so I am mystified....? More

We were seated on patio with warm heaters on a January evening . Service was prompt , polite. Server was able to explain menu items and answer our questions. I had stew which had very tender meat and veggies. My husband had veal meatballs with spätzle . They offered a 2 course fix prixe for $19.99. Would return to this... More
