Zin American Bistro is an attempt to modernize and Americanize the traditional French Bistro concept. With Zin recently receiving 3 ½ stars and a review of “quite possibly the best food for the money in the Coachella Valley” from author Peter Osbaldeston’s Palm Springs Dining Bible, Chef Nicolas Klontz and wine director Mindy Reed have indeed raised the bar of casual fine dining in Palm Springs. Zin has over 200 wines on their list and has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 5 years. With choices from the Kobe Style Beef Burger ($16) and Mussels & Frites($18) to the Rabbit ($25) or a Prime Hanger Steak ($26) there is something for everyone. Be sure to save room for some house made desserts and a glass of port for a perfect finish. Attentive, friendly yet unobtrusive service with Wine Director Reed available to guide you thru her carefully selected wine list and Chef Klontz greeting diners personally between courses make dining at Zin a night to remember.

We were here for a light dinner. We enjoyed the beet salad. They have a nice wine list. The oysters were fresh. The nicoise salad was good but the potatoes were a little undercooked but very edible and the rest of the salad was very good.

Zin was the perfect meeting place for me and my group of 10 friends for our reunion in downtown Palm Springs after 12 yrs. The food was delicious, the drinks were fabulous, the outdoor patio was wonderful, comfortable and fun for people watching right on the strip! Our waiter was very friendly, patient and incredibly knowledgable. He made our evening... More

3/16/2014 Nice place. Located on the main street of Palm Drive, with restaurants and shopping. We sat at the open air bar. Great bartender Joshua, who was super pleasant, even though he was super busy. We got the Wild Mushroom Truffle Soup, which was very "earthy" tasting. Not for me, but my hubby loved it. Then we had the Zin... More

My wife and I love to people watch during a meal. That's part of the fun of dining out. This is especially so in Palm Springs because of the ethnic, racial and just, plain character mix of the people who dine at the same facility or pass by on the street. If you object to dining with gays, transgenders or... More

We had lunch, the food was great! The truffle mushroom soup was amazing. There is a variety of salads and sandwiches. The fried blue cheese stuffed olives were great. They have a great wine list and fun drinks!

Went to Zin twice for lunch during a 5 day stay. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Service both times was attentive and friendly. We look forward to returning next visit to PS.

My son and I happened upon this restaurant during the Thursday night Palm Springs street fair. One of the main reasons we chose it was availability of tables. Service was great, overall. Oysters on the half shell were fresh and fairly good (considering one is in the desert, after all). Filet mignon was FANTASTIC. My son had the $38 foie... More
