Off the Palm Springs Beaten Track

The location of this restaurant is a plus in my book. Palm Springs can often connotate "tourist". La Perlita is the real thing...family owned and family run. The menu represents Mexican choices that are reflective of good, solid home-cooked Mexican food. The menu selection is wide and the... read more

Just visited there yesterday. Had the beef taco with rice and beans and my daughter had the chicken tostada salad. Restaurant and bathroom were very clean. The owner was very nice. We had about a 10 minute wait for a table which was fine. Good homemade chips (a must for a good mexican restaurant), but the salsa was just so... More

Shrimp in cream sauce, a LaPerlita specialty dish was delicious..chicken enchiladas were filled with shredded check chicken...topped with great red enchilada sauce. Prices very reasonable...service was good, even though it was very busy. C

When I see the ratings I expect a bit more. Love that it's a family restaurant, love the concept. The food was good, although my Chile Rellenos was just okay. Nice service, welcoming and warm in our view. Seems to have a bigger buzz than I think is warranted, not a very big spot with a lot of seating, we... More

La Perlita is in a small plaza named the Oasis. The name seems appropriate as when you look out the restaurant's windows you see barren desert surroundings. Although isolated La Perlita has amazing business which I think is well deserved. Both the food and the service as indicated by other trip advisor reviews are outstanding. Visitors to Palm Springs should... More

This rather small, family-run restaurant is in an out-of-the-way location southeast of the Palm Springs airport. We had the taquitos and fish tacos. Portions were generous and the food was well, though not overly, seasoned. We normally like our Mexican food a bit spicier than this was. However, we did like the heat of the salsa that accompanied the chips.... More

My wife and I just had dinner at the best Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs and maybe all of southern California “La Perlita Mexican Food”. The place is family owned and operated with Angel (owner) working the front of the house and his wife doing the cooking their children working the tables. I tried the “Lengua en Salsa verde” Sliced... More

Service was very nice and friendly. Food was fine, not outstanding, but a decent value for the money. Atmosphere was eclectic, really fit to make a good feel when inside.

We drove a couple of extra miles to get there after seeing the good reviews here. Unfortunately, the place was closed on Sunday. Just a heads up to everyone planning on doing the same.
