Last nights dinner was a Sammy G's. I pass by it every night and thought I'd give it a shot. The menu is very far away from Italian, it's funny how Americans think that because there is pasta and pizza on a menu, it's from that part of the world. The hostess was about as impartial as could be, barely... More

We had no reservation, so accepted that there would be a wait of "about 30 minutes". The hostess took our cell #. Strolled about the neighbourhood and came back 30 minutes later to see how much longer the wait would be. The hostess felt we were harassing her and so she went and retrieved her manager who accused us of... More

This was a lovely restaurant. We dined in the inside dining room which I was a little disappointed about, but not after we sat down! The dining room is very cozy, the bench had pillows which the waiter plumped for my very short friend. Romantic spot if that's what you're looking for. Our waiter, Sergio was extremely knowledgeable and made... More

This evening we enjoyed a truly tasty Italian dinner at Sammy G's. The food was mostly delicious with a couple of missteps. The bread and olive topping were delicious, but the caesar salad was very generic. The winner was the un-breaded eggplant parmesan... so amazing and fresh with a perfect sauce and al dente pasta! The calamari appetizer was great... More

We went during happy hour to get good prices to try the place. It was so good that we went back for more. You can sit in the bar cozy, or sit outside in the fresh air, or inside that looks over the outdoor seating and listen to the live entertainer. The lasagna was tasty and the salad was big... More

The best part of the meal was the bread and excellent garlicky olive tapenade. From there it was downhill. The meals were average and the mushroom/Marsala ravioli was essentially tasteless. Maybe they forgot the Marsala?? We were offered a tiny portion of Parmesan cheese which wasn't enough for our large table. The Caesar salad was some bagged lettuce, 4 tiny... More

Lasagna and Four Cheese Gnocchi were our tables favourites. Everything came out quickly and hot for our large group. Service was fast and efficient. Sat inside so we could really hear everything going on in the bar next door. Patio dining seemed more pleasant and relaxing.

Dropped by for dinner on our first night in town as I fancied some pizza. The hostess told us there were no tables outside but spoke to someone inside who said there would be one there in a few minutes so we said that was ok. Inside we were told longer or given the option to simply sit in the... More
