The food is good and they have a nice menu selection. The service is helpful and they try to accommodate special dietary needs.

Stopped in for lunch. They have a good menu for lunch. Limited selection of items. Had the pastrami sandwich which was excellent ( even tho it was thicker cut ) and the special potato salad which was unique and very good. We were there before Happy Hour so paid premium prices for drinks which is irritating as they are way... More

Many well rated restaurants are found in the middle of El Paseo. This little Bistro at the end of the street at the end of a little mall pleasantly surprised us. The food was very good, the quantities were just right and the wine list very affordable. Our waiter Jonathan was very pleasant and not pushy. We sat on the... More

This is a very casual but busy restaurant near Clementine's. I had an enormous BLT with avocado and had to end up just eating the filling as we weren't going straight home on this 100 degree Sunday.

On arrival, the owner appeared to be stressed and was less than welcoming. It was jazz on the patio night so it was fairly crowded. The music was the best part of the evening .It took quite a while to get our calamari appetizer and it was crispy and tasty. There was a small plastic cup of marinara sauce and we... More

Small bistro with a lot of regulars. Not "fine dining" but very good food with an emphasis on Italian. Occasionally, because many regulars who appear to be senior citizens don't move very fast, the service gets backed up. If you're don't want to have a leisurely meal then, depending on the crowd, this might not be the place for you.... More

As someone with a youthful history of working in restaurants as a server and host, I understand the difficulties in running an effective restaurant, and therefore 1) I always over-tip, and 2) I'm reluctant to write a bad review..but I must. On our first recent evening at Backstreet we had a party of six, and on the second evening, we... More

We've been here a few times for very average food with a lot of attitude. There are so many good restaurants in the desert, you'd be advised to enjoy better food without the attitude. Our last visit there was so bad, it could have been a scene from a movie. The owner is downright entitled and rude - didn't make... More

We had dinner at the Backstreet Bistro last night as part of a "package" through the Coachella Valley Symphony and were blown away by the whole restaurant scene. The owners are so friendly, the staff just great, the food wonderful, and the ambiance beyond belief. We will be attending the restaurant on a regular basis now that we know of... More

The sand dabs at the Backstreet Bistro are worth revisiting and why I gave an excellent rating . I have been there twice and ordered them both times, My husband and I arrive for a late lunch and sit in the patio. The service is friendly and attentive. We have a happy hour glass of wine and it is pleasant... More
