Still the Best French Food in the Valley

We hadn't been to Chez Pierre for a couple of years so decided it was time. Food was as good as it was in the past. We started with cocktails; I ordered a Kir Royale; the cassis came in a champagne glass and a small bottle of (real French) champagne was brought on the side. We started with an... read more

Chez Pierre offers a very fine menu of authentic French cooking. Diners have a choice of a la carte selections or a $29.50 Prix Fixe 3 course menu. We went for the menu which offered an excellent selection of dishes and were rewarded with a terrific meal. Each of us (4) tried something different as the main course and all... More

Not even expensive. The last time we were there, my husband had the freshest and best beef hache that we have had in the United States. I had the special of the day, leg of lamb. 29.95. It was so big that I brought half home for the next day. The tables are perfect and the tablecloths and napkins perfectly... More

I go to restaurants because they serve great food. Chez Pierre meets this criteria. The food is great.

Thank goodness for real French food. Pierre makes a point of greeting guests in the dining room - just an avuncular, smiling hello at times - a welcome change from impersonal restaurants. I ordered the cassoulet and was delighted, though the portion was enough for two. Appetizers, salad and desserts all hit the spot. This is not precious 5 star... More

It is on 111, not El Paseo so may be overlooked by tourists, but by far the best meal we had in Palm Desert. Lots of locals, chef came out to greet diners, and the food was delicious. Clearly this is real French cooking. Get the Floating Island for dessert!

We spent 3 nights with friends at their vacation home in Palm Desert. Wonderful golf, weather and hospitality. Our friends wanted to try a local restaurant and booked Chez Pierre. Pierre himself greeted us - a jovial French chef who obviously loves being in the restaurant business. The menu had a range of typical French dishes, and a variety of... More

We have a group of couples who like to do fine dining when we arrive in Palm Desert. We were glad to see that Pierre has settled in to his new location (over a year ago). We found the food was up to expectations and service was as good as always. The place was packed on a Monday night, but... More

This is our fourth trip to Pierre's - a charming family run French restaurant in the heart of the Palm Springs valley. We returned with friends from Chicago who joined us there one year ago. Whilst the service is still excellent and the warm ambiance improved in the new location, we all felt that things slipped a tiny bit. Perhaps... More

This is a small, family-run restaurant where the welcome was warm and the food excellent. We all had the duck as the main course; this was cooked just as we had asked for. The service was attentive without being intrusive. For the wine we chose the Cote de Rhone which was very acceptable and well-priced. Altogether a most pleasnt evening,... More
