Have dined here since early 80's, always get the sukiyaki, best since my mom's. Will go again with friends soon. They have "The Boat" which is great for 2 couples.

We've been coming to Matsuri for over 5 years and have always had a good meal and very friendly service. The portions are large and well-prepared, and there is a good selection from sushi to combination dinners to ala carte items. The place is not fancy, but it is clean and homey - and the waiter knows all the gossip... More

The food here was unremarkable and bland. We were the only people in there and we were being rushed at 2.45 by the waiter who wanted us to pay for the meal before we were finished, as he wanted to close the till as they were closing at 3pm. Uninteresting food, drab surroundings and pushy staff AVOID

We've been going to Musashi for about 2 years since we've been coming here and we tried Sam's Sushi last week. We avoided Matsuri based on its look. It looks a bit dumpy from the street and the decor is very dark and dated but we took a chance and went for lunch today. We were so glad we did.... More

We went for dinner and had the dinner bento boxes. They ere $18.95 each. Good presentation with salad, rice, tempura but the meat was a very small amount for this price. And my beef was full of fat. The table was sticky which was a bad sign right off the bat. The waiter was pleasant - we ordered wine and... More

We just returned from a trip to Japan. Matsuri's food is equal to anything we ate in Japan. I eat the sushi and my husband eats the teryiaki steak. We love the food. They have tables, booths and a nice sushi bar.

The only "Japanese" restaurant in the Coachella valley. Many of the regulars are Japanese. Low key, high quality, wonderful sushi chef. Try the fried green peppers, gyoza outstanding. Many varieties of sake.

Unique miso soup and potstickers. Yellow tail was great.

Walk the extra block to route 111. This place feels authentic (I lived in Tokyo for a while), the people who work here are Japanese, and the sushi rocks.

Very large portions. Beef teriaki with tempura came on a huge platter with a substantial salad, and full portion of tempura, which could easily be shared. Tasty miso soup was served first. Sashimi was fresh.
