Decent Mexican food on El Paseo

The people-wagching is great from the inside/outside seating at Armando's. Nice service, too, and quite prompt. For my taste, the music is too loud and the food was the usual American-Mexican you would expect. Sangria was also ho-hum.

This place is in the heart of Elpaseo, and you cant miss it by the mist curtain that envelops the deck. Overall the food was great, the servers my be alittle over worked, and the margs re stiff enough to hang your hat on. I had the beef stuffed relleno and it was awesome. So good I want back the... We love the Mexican food, the patio along El Paseo, and the ambiance. Great spot. Make reservation and enjoy. We always try to get in when we visit the Desert.

Sit at the bar and enjoy a huge drink, but they pour so strong you'll need extra line juice :). Everything we've had there has been great, big portions to share and a very fun atmosphere. You'll really enjoy. But limit your margaritas!!

Armando!s had to close last year following a fire - a disaster for all the lovers of good Mexican food. We all tried other Mexican restaurants and while good, not in the same class as Armando's. We watched forlornly week by week and month by month for signs that they would reopen and finally the day came and immediately the... More

Well you simply can't come here without trying the house special Margarita. We had a large group and we all had a couple. Super strong you need to pre book a cab if you have more than 2. For food, shrimp cocktail was great, the nachos started Google but went a little limp towards the end. The hard shell tacos... More

I eat here every time I am in town. It is some of the best mexican food in the dessert. I usually mix it up by picking 3 three item for combo always getting a tamale. The enchiladas are good too. You can't eat here without having a margarita. They are good. The only bad thing was having to wait... More

We stopped in for lunch and I ordered the Tres Amigos Tacos. The pork melted in your mouth. The steak was a little tough but very flavorful (wish it would have been cut into smaller pieces). My husband had the fish taco and it was wonderful, the cod was grilled perfectly. I wish we would have found this place earlier... More

We enjoyed the evening, dining outside. They offer margaritas with 3 tiers of tequila which is great. We all opted for the top, best tequila. Yummy, very strong!! Be sure to eat. The special relleno was delicious. I chips were actually the only disappointment of the evening.

Last year Armando's had a fire and he was forced to close. Throughout the summer Armando's clients passed by this long standing Mexican Restaurant looking longingly for any sign of re-opening. Yes, we visited Blue Agave another Mexican restaurant which is the same family and while very good, it wasn't Armando's Eventually there was a sign that said reopening in... More
