Still my favourite Mexican Food destination in Palm Desert !

A visit to the Desert is only complete with a trip to Armando's. I agree with legions of previous reviewers who rave about their Margaritas. And their chips and salsa. My other favourite is the Shrimp Cocktail which is generous enough to call dinner. My recommendation ... Sit on the patio... read more

I am a native Texan who speaks fluent Spanish, has lived in Mexico, and I have a life long love affair with all things Tex-Mex. Some Californian friends of mine asked me to meet there here for dine. I will admit to already being biased against Californian Mexican food/Tex-Mex having sampled it in LA, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, and other... More

I had numerous people tell us to go here and it was completely a waste of time and money. Worst food and worst margaritas ever. Complete waste of time. I gave it one star just because I can't give it a negative one.

We shopped on the lovely El Paseo Drive, and being Mexican food aficionados, went for lunch at Armandos. It is welcoming and in a good location. However, the margarita (I ordered Top Shelf) wasn’t flavorful- I think they left out the triple sec or something. The tortilla chips tasted like dry cardboard. Very bland and unlike the warm, freshly fried,... More

One can people watch from the patio at Armandos. They are well known for their margharitas. I find they use a bit too much agave necter which makes them a bit sweet but they can adjust that. The grilled calimari are very good and can be followed by many traditional mexican favorites. The staff are predictably friendly and efficient.

We enjoyed everything we ordered and they had some creative Mexican dishes that were very good. Nice place for drinks.

I have just discovered Armandos in Palm Desert. The first visit was so good, that I went back three more times! I have been coming to Palm Desert for years and have tried many of the other Mexican establishments, but this is by far the best. The Banana Margarita sounds a bit odd, but it was really delicious. I am... More

Don't order too much! I took home most of our dinner as portions are copious. Margueritas satisfying. We went at 7 pm when the place was crowded but slowly the crowd left and by 8 pm there were empty tables around us. It's chilly so we sat inside. They enclose the outside section in plastic tent material, but I wasn't... More

Service started a little slow, but improved. Margaritas are VERY strong! Wide variety of items on the menu. We recommend the carnitas or the three tacos.

We have dinner at Armando's several times each winter season, which is located on the west end of El Paseo. It is our favourite Mexican American restaurant in the Coachella Valley. We always make reservations, which generally is a must, asking for a table on the outdoor patio. For a starter they serve chips and tasty salsa for every table.... More
