Sommelier worth the visit

Had the best mushroom soup ever. But things went down hill from there. I had the rabbit, It was undercooked and tough. It was served with vastly overcooked cabbage. The pairing left the plate a single color and without any variation in texture. My wife's fish was no better than average. What... read more

We visit this restaurant once a season. We enjoy the mushroom soup, best in the desert. The peach cobbler was perfect for sharing and so delicious. It is one of several fine dining restaurants in the valley. The outdoor dining is very nice. Our waiter was good, his support staff was not. I appreciated the chef visiting the tables, it... More

The setting is exquisite. The food was decent but not fabulous. The mussels were good but the broth lacked flavor. Pasta with mushrooms was bland but served hot. The Cesar salad had 4 fronds of lettuce with anchovies and was underwhelming. The asparagus soup was delicious. Lovely welcoming smile from the hostess. However, not one smile from the servers. The... More

Recently had dinner here. We were able to walk from our hotel and really enjoyed walking through the adjacent sculpture gallery. Larry was especially helpful in returning a forgotten item and securing a cab home. The avocado fan was delightful.

The food was excellent. We had the Dover Sole and Lobster Pot pie. Both were great. We had a decent wine that went well with the food. The service was impeccable. We also were given a special desert that was a merengue with caramelized sugar in a bed of vanilla crème custard. It was to die for. This was one... More

We entered the nearly empty restaurant and spent three hours mainly waiting for our beverages and meals. Our waiter and any staff disappeared. We are experienced restaurant diners and this has to have been one of the worst service experiences we have had in the United States. The kicker was it was an empty restaurant. Plus, when my poached salmon... More

Enthusiastic greeting upon entering the restaurant. Dined in the bistro with friends--my treat. This restaurant isn't clear on the concept of bistro food which should be fresh, delicious and inexpensive. The food was reasonably priced but the pasta portions were skimpy and served lukewarm. When we pointed out that the pasta needed more heat, the server took the pasta dishes... More

Cuistort was recommended by a friend who had lived in Palm sprinds. It lived up to everything. On entry, a delicious aroma or the servings and elegant decor.thecservice was great and the wine list extensive. We were wonderfully helped by Fred, the sommelier to pick a wine that matched our meals. He suggested a nice French Chardonnay, 2009 meursault which... More

I visit lots of restaurants, and usually don't bother to post a review because my comments would merely echo what everyone else has written. Cuistot is different. I have eaten here 4 times in the past 2 years, twice on Christmas Eve, and believe it is consistently worth 2 stars. You can find more detail in my 2-star review from... More
