When the Chef Tours His Restaurant...

When the chef tours his restaurant to greet patrons--it's a good thing and shows me he's proud of his restaurant, food, staff, etc. That's what happened when we stopped by for happy hour this week! Four of us met because we had heard they offered a good happy hour. We each ordered a cocktail... read more

The food was marvelous, the wine was superb, the ambience was elegant -- but our waitress was beyond spectacular. This was our first (certainly not our last!) visit and we were treated like old friends.

Four of us had a girls weekend in mid-January. We wanted to treat ourselves to something out of the ordinary. A find French restaurant fit that goal. The location on the Paseo startled me - I was expecting a quaint old building - but the place is beautifully designed. We sat outside under the stars near the fireplace; a creek... More

We visited Cuistot last Sunday for Happy Hour and were once again overwhelmed by the wonderful way they present their version of HH. It is served in the bar and patio from 4 to 6, and simply has the finest food of any happy hour in the area. They present many of their regular entrees, but in a smaller version.... More

I am not one of them, but I understand part of the appeal. The food is consistently good - not excellent or brilliant - but good. The prices are high but feel less than La Spiga next door. The wine list is big but not particularly interesting or deep. It's nice in the desert winter to be near the fire;... More

The building give a country French feel to the restaurant and the valet parking was sure nice on this rainy evening. We had a reservation on a Wednesday night but I don't think it was needed midweek. The staff was friendly and professional. Our server took the time to chat a little and then offered advise on the wine and... More

Cuistot is a beautiful, restaurant with a very inviting ambiance. We had Christmas Eve dinner with friends a few days ago and I am still enjoying the delightful memories. The meal was as fine as any to be had; perfectly prepared with appropriate portions. The staff was on par with the faire, attentive and charming. A wonderful, special occasion place,... More

This is a fine dining experience enhanced by French chef/ owner, Bernard Dervieux`s finesse in presenting an eloquent dining room ambience to accompany his excellent, creative menu selections. The table and wine service is very good. Corkage is $25 and appropriate stemware is used. There are 4 dining rooms to choose from. We prefer the fireplace room which is the... More

Cuistot has the appearances of a very high end restaurant with the associated prices that one expects to pay. Three of us went for dinner and whilst my two companions seemed to enjoy their small filet of Dover Sole at around $50 each, my plate was served dangerously hot. One look at the dish as it was placed before me... More
