Description: The idea of Villagio comes from a marriage between time and place; the old neighborhoods of New York City and the abundant plains of California. What California brings to the table figuratively and literally, is its abundance of fresh produce, fresh starts, and the opportunity to reinvent. And so it was with these two places and time in mind that we set out to build a restaurant that would meld the two. With pizza dough made from scratch, hand stretched and cooked in a traditional pizza oven, our proprietary pizza sauce and the freshest of ingredients, Villagio invites you to dig in and enjoy our food, our warmth, and our relaxing ambiance. A place where old world tradition, meets new world freshness.

Cozy, trendy place in a plaza near the highway, yet it feels out-of-the-way and private (a good mix of easily accessible and yet secluded). Very friendly service. And the food was really spectacular. The chicken parmigiana was simmered in tomato sauce instead of breaded and deep-fried like most Italian restaurants, and that was a very welcome change. Light and healthy... More

We were here the week of New Years and really enjoyed the fun upscale pizza "joint". We opted for salads and sandwiches. Salads were large enough to share as were the sandwiches. I had the roasted veggie sandwhich shared because it was too large to finish after the delicious salad. Service was attentive and we enjoyed being able to watch... More

on the recommendation of friends we ate here. Sorry we did. The service was poor, cold, the food - with the exception of the garlic balls unimpressive. the pasta and clams was passe, the parmigiana chicken, bland and tasteless. But the beer was cold and cheap

While staying in our condo we noticed ads for this restaurant in all the tourist's magazines and how highly rated it was. Worth a try. We were impressed with the interior and the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. We ordered appetizers from the happy hour menu. We started with the Mozzarella Caprese and the Calamari Fritta. Both were very... More

This pizzeria is located on Cook St. South of the I-10 Fwy in Palm Desert in a newer strip mall. It is not your typical pizzeria. It is nicely decorated, in a more upscale look, which is reflected in their prices. The entrees that we tried were very nicely prepared and very tasty. We will definitively return here to try... We had the bruschetta, calamari, and a pizza. I could have made a meal from the bruschetta! The calamari were delicious.

My husband and I were interested in an Italian Dinner (mainly pasta - Carbs) prior to the Palm Desert Century but we did not want to travel all over the area. Pizzeria Villagio was recommended by our hotel. When we arrived it was packed, (Good Sign) We were asked if we wanted to wait up to 30 minutes or sit... More
