Based on TA reviews, we sought out this popular spot. At 11:45, there was a line at the counter and most of the few tables were full. This Is a more of a take-out place, which is fine, considering all of the wonderful places where one can have a picnic lunch in the area. We bought the only two remaining... More

This is what all bakeries should aim to be. Quaint. Unpretentious. Bustling. Aromatic. Warm. Welcoming. After reading reviews, I have this to offer. If the line is out the door, just wait. The line moves quickly and just appears long because the shop is quite small. The staff is highly efficient and they recognize they need the numbers to work... More

The pastries, breads, sandwiches, it's all so fresh and delicious. I go at least once, every time we visit Monterey. Located in Pacific Grove, this place really offers unique baked goods. unlike any I've had elsewhere. Quite rich and most pastries are enough for two...or even three people. I've told several people about Pavel's and they all love it!

I purposely went looking for this place when we recently visited Pacific Grove after reading about it on TP. I'm not a big pastry person but this place sounded like heaven. I got there early and lines were already forming. It's a delight; not a fancy place just a good old fashioned bakery. Chocolate croissants, chocolate eclairs, fresh breads......mmmm, makes... More

You can't go wrong with anything you order from here. Everything is good. Come early as items run out and try everything at least once. You'll see a line out the door in the early mornings. That says a lot right there. Enjoy!

We couldn't find it on our car GPS but a nice lady told us where to find. it. It wasn't opened, but we were able to buy a round loaf of their brown seeded bread at Grove's Grocery across the street and it was fabulous.

Everything looked great. We sampled a couple things that were really good. We walked here from the Pacific Grove Inn just up the hill.

I stop at Pavel's as often as possible. The bread is fabulous. The Danish is perfect, not too sweet with real fruit.

The bread and sweet stuff starts coming out at 7 A.M. Get there early to get a hot loaf a bread. The cinnamon rolls are the best I've ever eaten and the chocolate croissants are yummy!
