I teach Baking and Pastry and this bakery is amazing. Don't expect a glamorous seating area or fancy interior, but the goods are wonderful!

That was a recommendation from a previous guest via Trip Advisor so we thought...let's check it out. Not taking the time to check what time they opened, we took an early morning stroll in that direction. We arrived at the door fifteen minutes till 7....they open at 7am. One lady in line...says she's never been there, but has heard it... More

We stumbled upon this bakery our first day in Pacific Grove. We arrived shortly before closing time and there were literally 3 loaves of bread and a half of a chocolate cake left. The chocolate babka cake was moist like a pudding cake due to the ganache baked right in. Yum! We came back the next morning to a line... More

This is one of those places you can find by following your nose...the scent of fresh bread and pastry is intoxicating. One weekends you can also spot it by the long lines. Once in the door you will be distracted by the displays that always temp you to buy something more than you planned. People in line are happy to... More

Was visiting relatives recently and they suggested we pick up some pastries to enjoy with coffee later in the afternoon, after lunch at Fandango's. Pavel's is walking distance from there so we gave it a go. Bought apple fritters and cinnamon buns. They are huge and look delicious, but sadly the taste did not match up on the fritters. Bland... It was close to closing time so most bakery items were gone. But we got a piece of the Chocolate Babka cake and chocolate chunk cookies. Both were heavenly. The cake was so moist and chocolate. It satisfied my sweet tooth. Best part about this bakery - the price! It's very reasonably priced. Cake was $3.50 (big slice) and cookie... More

We can see why this place is a Pacific Grove institution. The case of goodies is beautiful, everything is delicious, and the people could not be nicer. The apricot Danish was superb as was the famous bear claw. If only they could add an espresso bar in the corner, life would be complete and we could all just stay there... More

We vacation in Pacific Grove each summer and this is our first stop. Everything is divine. We love the berry cream cheese danish. This time we tried a roll that has an egg baked into it, very tasty too.We have had sandwiches, bear claws, danish, and lovely loaves of bread. You really don't want to miss this place, it is the... More
