It doesn't look like much, but the food is fantastic, and as we entered regular patron told us the specials were great. The chowder in a sourdough bowl was delicious (and as a pescitarian I was very happy they don't use bacon) - the grilled crab and cheese my sister had was definitely something to write home about! Highly recommended!

From the outside this restaurant might not look like much, but they do a great job with their seafood. The chowder bread bowls are a home run and the prices are reasonable. Everything was well seasoned and delicious.

After a day of doing toursty stuff, we decided that we wanted clam chowder but were looking for a place that wasn't too far from our hotel at Lover's Point. After checking Yelp, we decided on Vivolo's and we were not disappointed. We ordered an appetizer of calamari, 2 bowls of clam chowder and a 1/2 order of garlic cheese... More

Found this place on Yelp and Trip advisor. We ate dinner there and came back the next day for lunch. Food was very good and prices were quite reasonable. I had the calimari steak. I hadn't seen whole calimari on a menu since visiting Greece. It was very well cooked and seasoned. My wife had the sand dabs which we... More

New in Pacific Grove and stopped here for dinner. The Chowder House lived up to our expectation - great clam chowder. I had a salad with fish and it was HUGE. In fact I could only eat about 60%. All ingredients in the salad were fresh. My wife had a sole dinner with lemon butter sauce and said it was... More

Everything we ordered was great! The service wasn't the best but they said they had a rookie working and i can look past forgetting my beverage order and refills for good food. My wife and i had a ceasar and house salad. Everything is very fresh and tasty. We shared the chowder and the smoked salmon ravioli. Excellent! We dipped... More

Our getaways to the Monterey area always begin with an arrival lunch at Chowder House. We love their delicious chowder and usually have a small side salad with shrimp along with it. Great service, reasonable prices and away from all the touristy spots - but close enough to walk there after lunch.

Very good service- there was a line-up even at lunch. Food was good value and wait-staff very knowledgeable- you didn't feel rushed.

We had dinner there this evening based on TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed. We started with only one bowl of clam chowder because we were afraid it might not really be good. Wow it was great! We decided to share it and then get an entree that we also shared. It tasted good but the sauce was put over... More

We are locals and love this place. Casual and great to take out of town guests or for an easy night out! They have other stuff, but the clam chowder in a bread bowl with the toasted cheese top is the best!! And even more fun is the butcher paper table cloths with crayons-great if you have kids with you,... More
