Perhaps my expectations were too much, but I've been to many better seafood establishments. The food and service were fine and I felt we were charged too much in comparison with the quality of food. This is definitely a family restaurant and it was nice seeing all the happy families here. just don't "get" all the rave reviews.

Lunch with five other people we all had some version of the chowder, some in bread bowls, some with garlic lid, some just a bowl. Some Boston pan roast Chowder, other's classic. Lunch was loved by all. Very cute restaurant, excellent attentive service. Definitely will go back. Easy parking on a weekday. When you want a step up from chowder... More

Vivolo's Chowder House was a delicious surprise. The clam chowder was good, but the Boston Pan Roast, a creamy bisque, was superb. The seafood linguine was also perfect. We coundn't wish for more. The place is clean and simple. Service is fast and good. Prices are fair. All and all we were more than happy.

We were in Pacific Grove for one day/night while on our way down the CA coast. While we did plan ahead for dinner, we did not have lunch plans. We stopped in Vivolo's after a quick Google search. We really did not know what to expect, but were quickly blown away by how good it was! My husband had the... More

We went here after a long morning at the aquarium, and it was just perfect. We had delicious food, great sourdough bread and amazing tiramisu. Our daughter slept in her stroller through the whole meal, but we thought it would have been okay for her, too. My husband had the chowder in the breadbowl and loved it, and I had... More

We have been coming to Vivilo's on every visit to Pacific Grove since 1989. The seafood selection is varied....and very tasty. Great casual environment. We'll be back here again in a couple of months.

Checked out the reviews and decided to eat here for lunch. We had the clam chowder in sourdough bowl and bay shrimp cocktail. One of the best clam chowder I have ever had and the bay shrimp cocktail was not bad too. Food and service was so Outstanding as we were walking out we gave the place high praises to... More

I've never experienced clam chowder & what a beautiful experience it was! Served in a sour dough loaf with a Parmesan side toast, yum yum, lovely & creamy with loads of clams! The tiramisu is also to die for & very reasonable price! Definitely worth the visit
