We found Vivolo's several years ago and make it a point to eat there whenever we are in town. Our positive recommendation has encouraged locals who didn't know about it to come by as well. The chowder in the sourdough bowl with the garlic bread top is always delicious, and the service is attentive but not annoying.

For really good Chowder, this is the place! Skip the wharf tourist scene food. Friendly service, great food is here! Locals know :-)

We had a large group (16) of people of all ages who wanted to go out for dinner while attending a wedding in the area the next day. While it's a fairly small restaurant, they accommodated us nicely and we had a great time. The food was very good and they even had a children's menu for the kids. Service... More

We were staying at a motel in Pacific Grove and asked the desk clerk for a recommendation. She gave us Vivolo's for seafood. Told us we could get a 10% discount as guests. It's a small unpretentious place kind of between Pacific Grove and Monterey, and we were not disappointed. Start with the garlic bread. It's sinful, and so big... More

Most people think they need to go to the wharf to get quality seafood and chowder but this cute little place proves they are right up there with delicious food. Try the bread bowl or a bowl with their cheesy garlic bread! Awesome and filling!

Having only visited once I cant comment on the majority of the menu, but I was HIGHLY impressed with the Boston Pan Roast. It was teaming with large chunks of scallops, oysters and shrimp, in a cream bisque. No skimping on seafood, outstanding!

We had lunch here because of other reviews and were not disappointed. A little, unpretentious place with a good menu and excellent chowder. I'm a chowder fan and this is near the top of my list.

We came in late on a Monday night and were soon the only people in the place. Usually this would mean being ignored by staff working on closing down for the night but it wasn't the case. Our waiter and the other staff member were very personable and attentive. I had the clam chowder and hubby had the Boston pan... More

Freshest of fish, delicious vegetables, good wine list, great local cafe. So come hungry and enjoy the great service and friendly staff. We will be back.

We're New Englanders stranded in California and we look for Eastern comfort wherever we can find it out here. We'd heard the clam chowder in Vivolo's was very good so we sought the place out. Vivolo's is located in a small retail area on Central Avenue in Pacific Grove. The restaurant is not very large but thee is comfortable space... More
