Dungeness Crab Cocktail & Chowder--Get Them!

Start with The Dungeness Crab Cocktail as an appetizer. It was a large serving of Crab and our family thoroughly enjoyed it. We should have ordered 2 because it was so fresh and good. We visited this restaurant 8 years ago on a local recommendation. This time we were dead on our feet having spent the day whale watching and at the aquarium. We remembered this place when we saw it and had a 12 yr old who really wanted a bowl of clam chowder. We were seated straightaway and drinks arrived very quickly.... More

Very cute restaurant! The chowder is delicious. Had it in the bread bowl with the garlic & cheese lid, yummy! The flounder was excellent. Very good & refreshing homemade lemonade. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will go here again!

I saw some reviews about the cheese toppers for the Chowder in a bread bowl. They are awesome as mentioned. I had never heard of this, but was THE best. I also had the Prawn cocktail, and it was great. The service was great and friendly. This is definitely not an uppity place; I felt very welcome and comfortable, like... More

Not only are they noted for excellent clam chowder, the menu is expansive in a comfortable atmosphere. We tried the chowder and calamari.

Friendly, old-world charm makes this little restaurant a special treat. The host greeting us couldn't be nicer...the Seafood Linguini...(try the special) was packed with fresh fish, clams and shrimp...delicious pasta...for a wonderfully satisfying meal. If you love crab...get the Dungeness crab cocktail, which while not elegantly served, offers a generous amount. Good food, reasonably price and away from tourists....we would... More

My wife and I were trying to get away from all the tourists and get an appetizer somewhere and drove by this place. We decided to stop because we thought some chowder would be a good appetizer for the two of us. We ended up getting a bowl of clam chowder and an order of fish and chips. Both were... More

My husband and I were looking for a place to eat down by the water but had problems finding someplace that was family friendly, since we had an infant and two year old in tow. It seems that quite a few places around were very unwelcoming to those who have children and we were frustrated. The owner of this place... More

Atleast their Clam Chowder was much tastier than the Fish Hopper . The Cioppino was a little bland, we had to give it back to them to make it more flavorful. We had 2 clams that didn't open up during cooking, we asked to have it recooked but waiter didn't understand and insisted we just use a knife to pry... More

Even in the summer, it's a bit chilly in Pacific Grove in the evening. The Boston Pan Roast Chowder is the perfect way to start a tasty meal here.Full of prawns, scallops, oysters, bay shrimp, it was creamy but not too heavy. If you have it in a bread bowl, you may want to skip the entrees and head straight... More
