Fried luncheon meat!

We ate here today - never again. Service was horrible. Food was horrible. This is a hamburger joint with lousy service, horrible food, and high prices. I ordered a turkey sandwich - they fried turkey luncheon meat. Worst ever! You stand in line and place your order and then wait and wait and... read more

We planned to visit the Monterey Aquarium on a Saturday morning so started looking for a breakfast spot in the neighborhood. Found one that had great reviews and when we arrived, it was obvious that lots of folks had also read the reviews as the waiting time was hovering around an hour. Since waiting in line for breakfast isn’t high... More

I guess you should accept being ripped off in the Monterey area, most places seem to do it. At Archie's you will certainly pay extra for the location and be served greasy food in a dirty location. One to avoid.

We wanted to eat breakfast at the First Awakenings early one sunday morning at 9:30 am but when we got there it was ridiculously crowded with a lot of people waiting around. We were disappointed but we didn't want to wait so we walked over to Archie's which is just around the corner. We were the first customer but by... More

We thought we would stop in here since it was a Diner. First impression very dirty place! The menu has a little bit of everything. We shared a Archie's hamburger and a Phily cheese steak sandwich and onion rings. The hamburger was nothing spectacular but tasted descent. The Phily was good but not the best. The onion rings were soaked... More

We ate here because we had bought a groupon. Prices are a bit high but it is in the tourist area of Monterey, on the very edge of Pacific Grove. Breakfast burrito for me, quesadilla for the fiancee. delicious. Large portions

This is the typical dinner food but the menu is extensive and if you are going to walk the trial good place to grab a sandwich for the walk. Portions are large so you will leave satisfied.

One of many stops on our birthday vacation of the central coast of California. A warm day, many people, so many places to see on cannery row. Stopped here by chance and due to limited parking in the area. Archie's American Diner was a stop we made for a quick bite to hold us over until dinner. This place is... More

What a fantastic find. This has to be one of the most genuine American Diner's I have seen on the West Coast and it certainly won't be our only visit. The service is excellent and the portions plentiful. The staff are very helpful and we even went home with an Archie's t-shirt, which I believe are very rare. Get yourself... More
