Although we went mostly for lunch, this became one of our favorite restaurants in the Carmel/Monterey area. The place is unpretentious, but food is excellent, the service impeccable, and the prices reasonable.

At Fifi's,you don't need to worry about nouvelle cuisine with its huge plates with tiny bites on them. The menu here includes old favorites of French (and American ) food: oysters Rockefller, duck a 'l-orange, sweetbreads, Floating Island and other such well-remembered dishes. And this isn't a "cafe" for my money: it's a restaurant, with linens and crystal. Large wine list.... More

My boyfriend I visited this restaurant with friends while spending a week in Monterey. We loved is so much we came back two other times. We didn't have a bad thing there. They have an awesome wine list. Fernando is so warm and gracious. We left Monterey with a new friend. The French onion soup and steak frites were my... More

We went to Fifi's on a cold, rainy night with some friends. The food and service were good, but we had a hard time staying warm.

We've been here for lunch and dinner many times in the last 30 years, and every time the experience is wonderful though outside it's just a city street. We've had everything from just salads to quiches to French seafood. Always a very good experience.

We were a party of 8 and had a nice enough dinner with wine. One person in our party bought a number of bottles of wine that he saw - cases of wine were displayed for sale. He asked to have one opened since this brand is a favorite of his and he wanted everyone to taste it. We had... More

Fifi's has been around since 1985 and it deserves recognition for its quality and consistently well prepared food. We went on a Sunday for a 'brunch'/ lunch. We ordered a nice bottle of cidre from Normandie. At just 4.5%, it's light enough with great flavor. The bottle they have is outstanding and we brought another one home. I had a... More

We have been eating at this restaurant for many years, every time we go up the coast to visit the Monterey Peninsula. Its absolutely wonderful, and despite another review I saw is very authentic French Bistro food. Having been to Paris several times, I can vouch for that. If you're expecting "haute cuisine" with itty bitty portions of "designer" food,... More

Hidden behind a Safeway store, Fifi's has been there for a long time and has always been reliably good, not excellent. It was the same this visit even though they have tried to become more French. My jury is still out on that.

Had lunch at Fifi's with an old friend and we had a lot of catching up to do. The food and ambiance were great. We felt very comfortable. Best of all, we weren't rushed at all. It had been a while since we dined there and it was as wonderful as I remembered.
