We love this place. It's location in the Tin Cannery makes it unique. It is local to the core and the best breakfast-lunch ever. You, family or friends will not be disappointed.

If your anywhere near Cannery Row in Monterey don't miss having breakfast at this restaurant. All the usual dishes but also many you may never have tried. Everything absolutely top quality and delicious. Dine indoor or out and share with the pigeons.

One great reason this restaurant is so successful is their diverse menu choices. Top place for breakfast. If you can't find parking on the street, there's a parking lot close by and it's free if you mention you are going to the restaurant!

I ate here one morning in August based on the many recommendations on TA. It was a totally mixed bag. On the positive side, the ambiance (near to Monterey Bay Aquarium) is good and the portions are truly huge. On the negative side, the omlettes were quite bland, the English muffin was served lukewarm and the coffee was tasteless. If... More

Delicious breakfast on the patio! Great coffee! We split eggs benedict (lots of varieties to chose from) and wonderful fresh fruit!

However, the Hollandaise on my eggs benedict was so good, and so plentiful, and the ham was of such higher quality than the typical lots of water added ham rec'd in most eateries, and the home fries were of sufficient quality and the orange juice fresh squeezed, that I will not downgrade this restaurant due this generally unpardonable oversight. And... More

Knowing nothing about the local restaurants, my husband and I took a chance on First Awakening because of the great reviews it received from other patrons. They were right! I had the best eggs Benedict I have ever had!. No wonder their hollandaise sauce is an award winner. My husband loved his vegetarian omelet as well. The ambiance, service and... More

After asking the locals for a breakfast recommendation we decided to give this a try. It's a bit hard to find as it is inside a mall building. We will definitely be back. I had the Blu Shroom omelet which I loved. It was quite rich and enormous. Very good. My husband had the pancakes and they were even better... More

Lovely cafe with terrace. Spectacular breakfasts for very little money. Relaxed friendly environment with excellent service. The meals are huge but beautifully prepared so don't share just eat more! Without doubt our favourite breakfast stop on a USA and Canada tour.

First looked inside, it looked like a mostly empty standard California coffee house, then we discovered the almost filled, and larger outdoors eating patio area. They do only breakfast and lunch, breakfast served all day. My spouse and I both got their Al B.Core Tuna Sandwich, which were great. All sandwiches come with lots of home fried potatoes (Greasy), Salad... More
