This restaurant used to be excellent, but last time I went there the food was uneven and the service was poor. Possibly an off night.

Passionfish has been our personal favorite for many years. They really know how to choose and prepare the very finest of seafood available in the local area. They are also participants in the now well known Seafood Watch program, which makes the experience even more special.

The dishes offered are beautiful, a bit overboard on presentation, but ok. I did not like the papusas I had once, since they were not what I am use to. (Papusas from El Salvador). I haven't been back since. Although its popular by local standards, I would not refer.

The food here is first rate and the wine list is extensive however they do not have highchairs for small children. Our meal was less enjoyable because we had to hold our infant granddaughter in our laps as we ate. I had the halibut which was perfect, my husband had the sturgeon and whilst it was perfectly cooked he found the fish a bit "earthy".

You really need to go to Passionfish next time you're in Monterey. Fantastic menu, service, food and a wonderfully comprehensive (and not overpriced) wine list. Highly recommend. We would absolutely return and wouldn't change a thing.

This is a little out of the way in Pacific Grove but worth the effort to find. It has a wide array of excellently prepared seafood. It is VERY popular with locals and visitors alike. Booked late and found that this place is very busy which is a good sign. Got seated only ten minutes late and rewarded with free entrees. Main course of talipa was excellent . Wine was reasonably priced. Overall it felt like a special place although the vibe was quite informal.
