We dined at Passionfish twice during our recent stay in Monterey. We have dined at Passionfish several times in the past 5 years and always dine here whenever we are in Monterey. Serving sustainable seafood, organically grown vegetables, award-winning wine, and superb desserts nightly from 5pm, this family-owned-and-operated restaurant, beloved by locals, is in the heart of historic Pacific Grove... We were staying at the Green Gables Inn, and had a very nice 15-minute walk along the shoreline and a few block inland to Passionfish, where my girlfriend took me for dinner for my birthday. She must have told them the occasion when she made reservations, since our menus said “Happy Birthday!” on top. Passionfish has a huge selection of... More

We had a delicious, innovative meal at Passionfish -- and my husband and I appreciated their policy of not marking up wine significantly. It has a Northern California vibe -- friendly, casual, but still elegant. Don't miss it!

The most inventive and creative fish entree I have enjoyed on the California coast. The numerous half bottles of wine to choose from was a bonus for me and greatly appreciated as my husband does not drink wine. If you are anywhere near the Monterey peninsula, be sure to make a reservation. It will be busy any night as long... More

One of our favorite spots to dine in Pacific Grove. They always have interesting dishes and the food is always excellent along with the great wine list. Hard to beat.

We went here for dinner, apparently the Monterey Plaza Hotel told them we were in town celebrating an anniversary. We were wished happy anniversary upon being seated and they prepared a special dessert for us. This is a somewhat crowed restaurant and because of this it is very noisy. The service was excellent, as was the food, we both enjoyed... More

Blow off the Cannery Row chain eateries and go to Pacific Grove. We spent our wedding anniversary in Monterey this week. We wanted a special place and we found it at Passion Fish in Pacific Grove. You know the place is good when it's packed on a Monday night 8/18 when we dined. You have got to order the fish... More

It was a party of three. Two of us started with the crab cake, the other the crab and avocado salad. The crab cake was heaven. Almost solid crab with just enough binder to keep it together. I had the salmon. The other two had the snapper. All the fish was cooked perfectly. All was excellent. Great flavors that supported... More

Located on Congress and Lighthouse is this eating establishment that's been in Pacific Grove for 17 years. Our reservations were at 7:30 and we were seated right away. In the reservations I commented it was a birthday celebration, and the restaurant gave us a menu with "Happy Birthday" on the top, with the date. Very cool! Stephen and I split... More
