There were six of us for lunch, sitting on the front porch of an old house on Lighthouse Ave. in Pacific Grove on a Friday in July. The company was delightful, the guests were happy, the waitress was energetic and fun. This restaurant is always busy. I have been frequenting it for many years. As the locals (I had lived... More

Along with my brother and his wife, we dropped by the Red House for b'fast. The menu is very basic and lacks the frilly offerings of other cafes but it's b'fast so ….. Unfortunately the dishes reflected the menu and were very uneventful. The blue berry pancakes were OK as was the smoked salmon benedict. The basic eggs/sausage/potato offering was... More

As a long-time resident of PG, my father loved dining at the The Red House. We have never had a disappointing meal here. Consequently, there can be lines out the door and a bit of a wait, especially on weekends. Everything is good. Their soups and desserts are always yummy. The service is good and professional. Love the beet salad... More

Had breakfast here this morning and it was good, well cooked and service good too. We were seated inside but found it too hot and noisy so requested outside and we were moved quickly and staff were helpful. Found prices a bit more than the Victorian corner which has become our usual this week.

We loved this place so much that we actually went here twice. The food was delicious, my husband had an burger which he raved about for three days. I had the goat cheese crotini salad (twice) because I liked it so much. The atmosphere is very quaint, it's an old house, adorable, would totally go there again (and again).

Having been put off by the tackiness of Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey I ventured to the charming Pacific Grove where I came across the equally charming Red House Cafe. I was seated quickly and offered continuous refills of the house brew ice tea (highly recommended). I decided to go for the sea bass special, it was perfect!... More

We were excited (in no small part due to such excellent TripAdvisor reviews) to eat at Red House Cafe but left disappointed that the food wasn't a lot better. It was perfectly adequate but completely forgettable. I do, however, thank the Red House Cafe for introducing me to an Arnold Palmer for the first time. For that I will be... More

We arrived at 10:55 with breakfast ending at 11:00, but they said we were still in time and we were so glad! I've never been to a restaurant where they would offer to dump out the cold coffee and replace it with hot! The coffee was wonderful, cups refreshed often, and the food was excellent. Great bacon, fluffy scrambled eggs,... More

My husband loves the atmosphere and the food. Their seafood is fresh, not fishy, the selections are diverse, the desserts delicious and not too sweet, the wait staff genuinely kind and attentive and the ambiance is charming. I think Rachel was the name of our favorite waitress there but I'm not certain. I do know that other couples have inquired... More

We are locals and this is one of our regular breakfast spots. The eggs benedict on a toasted croissant is what we compare all other benedicts to. Great for lunch as well. Try the "adult cookies" on your way out, apricot and not too sweet, they go fast.
