Friendly service and good seafood

I had dinner with a colleague here instead of eating at the Asilomar dining hall. I ordered the Baja bowl which had a manner of seafood and was delicious. Our waitress was reliable with good recommendations and friendly service. We had a tasty Pinot Grigio with our meal. Walking distance to Asilomar and a great break from the slightly institutional... It is away from most eateries in PG. But if you like seafood, it is one of the best in the area. Very cramped quarters, so you must enjoy people! The food is worth it.

Chose the chefs special. A lovely selection of fish spoiled by spicy covering . Pasta ok then topped with cold tomato/onion 'salad' . Overpriced for the amount of fish. Not a cheap evening out and not special as we were rushed into ordering and leaving.

On the advice of my friends, and because of the proximity to our lodging, we had dinner at Fishwife. As a business owner, I rarely give negative reviews, but I hope the owners will consider this constructive criticism, not online vindictiveness. I had one of the specials, some overly spiced overly creamy (read: unnecessary fat grams, yet without the fabulous... More

We stopped for lunch and to rest during a bike ride from Seaside to 17 mile drive. Waiter was professional, efficient. Had the bowl of clam chowder and salad for $10 and friend had fish and chips for $11. All delicious. Restaurant was lovely, big windows all around.

Had dinner last night at the Fishwife - a birthday celebration with friends! We were greeted by Richard - the best maitre'd ever! Great start to a wonderful evening! The food was really good and plentiful - we had no complaints! George, our waiter, was great and added a lot to the experience as well! We will be back for... More

We had eaten here 2 years ago and we really enjoyed our lunch. Last night we walked to Fishwife from Pacific Garden Inn where we are staying. It was a lovely walk; we were seated immediately; service was spot on. The food, however, wasn't stellar. The pasta Portofino was full of seafood (good) but the pasta was overcooked (not good.)... After all the great reviews, we were a little disappointed. It was very noisy and crowded and the staff seemed to have trouble keeping up. That said, they worked very hard to keep everyone happy. The food was okay, but not great. The wine was very good.

Recommended by locals and printed reviews. Good selection, good service and reasonable prices. George gave us a complimentary taste of the most extraordinary calamari- unlike any other I've ever tasted. Ask for it.
