Max's has become our go-to dinner place on our twice-yearly visits to PG. Food is delicious, portion size is perfect, wine selection just right, and service is friendly and attentive. For New Year's Eve we shared the crab cake appetizer (fresh crab and very little filler). Our entrees were sand dabs and calamari steak - both cooked perfectly with a... More

We ordered two prix fixe dinners. Both ordered the spinach salad and the sand dabs and tira tiramisu. I asked for dressing on the side and did not want my sand dabs cooked in butter. They were able to accommodate my requests. The food was excellent and the waitress was attentive. The restaurant fills up, so make a reservation. Great... More

Went two nights for dinner, loved it so much after the first night. Had the mushroom soup, terrific! First night was hand made delicious ravioli, he had mushroom, I had butternut squash, both terrific, very generous pillows of awesome goodness. I also was able to slide in some chocolate mousse, did not disappoint. Second night we started with the mushroom... More

Nice little place for Thanksgiving. We both had the rib eye - very good. Butternut squash soup was delicious! It was very reasonable for a price fix menu! We think a lot of people ordered the rib eye and it seemed to overwhelm the wait staff. We would eat there again!

I had dinner here with a group in early November. This was my second time to eat at Max's. The restaurant is small, intimate, warm and comfortable with a good menu. The selection of wines is very good and everything is fresh, tasty, and attractively presented. The staff are personable and helpful. I had the pot roast which was very... More

The food, wine, and service at Max's is unbeatable. The food is fresh and served hot. I enjoyed local Sand dabs served with an assortment of vegetables and tasty rice. My husband ordered his favorite - pot roast that cuts with a fork and also served with the fresh assorted vegetables. Also, we ordered a Caesar salad that was so... More

We found this gem just steps off the main street and while the setting is unpretentious the food and delightful service was excellent. The wine list was small but as with the food very reasonably priced. We ate oysters , sand dabs and ahi tuna rolls and could not have been more satisfied. We were also aware that many of... More

Food is delicious. Wonderful selection. Very nice ambiance especially for couples and groups of adults. Would not recommend you take small children unless they're VERY well behaved. It wouldn't be fair to the other diners or you. This is a restaurant where you get what you pay for. Not inexpensive but worth every $$$.

My husband and I had a very nice meal here last night. My husband had a special, crab cakes and prawns, and I had a ravioli dish. My husband was a bit disappointed in the Caesar salad, though, because it did not have an anchovy! Our waitress was very nice. Unfortunately there were not many people in the restaurant......we went... More
