This place is probably above average for Oxnard but we have had good and mediocre experiences. What we like best is the nice warm atmosphere.
The Italian Job serves really authentic and creative tasting Italian Food. The pastas are fresh and have great homemade sauces and the pizzas are real-not the chain variety you generally find around here. They have a surprisingly good wine list for a local restaurant and most wines are very reasonably priced-and the have a no corkage fee on Wednesdays if... More
We dined here, without a reservation, and really didn't enjoy either the meal or ambiance. From reading other reviews, perhaps we were just unfortunate. There was a large party dining which dominated the space and couples and smaller parties fitted in. Our waiter lost interested in us when we ordered soft drinks, not his wine suggestion. We didn't feel we... More
Its not often that I am completely happy with a meal but this was one of those rare events. From the Caprese Tricolor Salad to the Pollo Frasce to the Limone Pine Nut Pie it was a wonderful meal fit for a hard to please guy. Our server (who was very attentive) made a fine wine reccomendation that capped off... More
The menu offers a large choice of dishes, so we tried the pizzas and the pasta. The food was really good and tasted genuinely Italian! The wine list allows for nice discoveries (US and Italian wines).
In a city where there is SO MUCH fast food, it was nice to find a nice, casual Italian restaurant with reasonable prices and tasty food. The service was good, the employees were friendly and the location was convenient.
We were in Oxnard for a few days exploring the area and enjoying the cool temps. We loved the weather, but finding decent restaurants was a challenge. This was the worst. But it's website made it seem so promising. It's owned by a graduate of The Culinary Art Institute of Italy and his wife who had several previous restaurants prior... More
The atmosphere is quaint, the service is good and the food is, too. The soup on the daily specials is always good, as is the lentil. The pizzas are fun to share, and the entrees are very generous. I recommend the lasagne, or the chicken parmesan. A nice place to eat, and there are walking paths around the harbor to... More
Nice atmosphere, super service, friendly people and food was terrific. Price is right and fine wine list too. Highly recommend this restaurant if you like traditional Italian food with lots to choose from.
The name of the restaurant gave me pause but we found ourselves appreciating this quiet spot that belies the fact that it is in what seems to be a strip mall. Our service was excellent--drinks were never low. The salads--both the Caesar and Casa--were fresh, crisp and plentiful. The Caesar's croutons were not from a box. They were large enough... More
