This is Orinda's favorite place for breakfast. The menu is extensive, the prices reasonable, and the service homey and excellent. They also make very special sandwiches.

Village Inn makes my favorite egg salad sandwich, generously loaded with plain, yummy egg salad. With a side of homemade potato chips, I just can't say no. Plus, the sandwich is so big that I take half of it home. It's my go-to comfort-food restaurant for lunch when I need a special mid-day treat. Service was attentive, too. If you're... More

Really the only place in Orinda for the classic "American" Diner brunch at the weekend - hence the fact that you can have to wait a while for a table especially if you are a bigger party as the restaurant is quite small. BEWARE - The diner only serves breakfast on a Saturday until 11.25am, all day breakfast is ONLY... More

I have been working overseas for several years and usually arrive in Orinda in the middle of the day when everyone else is at work. My first thing after I drop off my luggage is go to the Villege Inn and have lunch. It means to me that I am back in the US and all is right in the... More

No complaints about the food (how can you mess up breakfast) or service. But wow, $64 for four for breakfast - and we even cheaped out and skipped the orange juice!

The food is always very fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious, and service is outstanding. Thick-cut bacon is really yummy, eggs, waffles and pancakes are delicious, and you get a ton of country-style potatoes -- enough to take home for two more breakfasts! Coffee is very good, and our grandson loves the hot chocolate, topped with a mountain of whipped cream.... More

Get the waffle everytime... light, fluffy, goodness! Corned Beef Hash is very good, coffee is topped off constantly, egss done right every time (I go soft poached or scrambled soft). I'd go more often, but it IS pricey... w/ tip, close to $30 for me & the 8yr. old. It IS a step above standard diner fare, so we go... More

We used to come here for lunch on the weekend...primarily because there are not a lot of American food places to eat break / lunch in Orinda Village. Little things were bothersome, such as you can order a hamburger, monte cristo, soup, or other hot meals - but they wouldn't serve fries. Mind you, for breakfast, you can get hash... More

We have been have breakfast here for 20 years.....way before their move to larger location. I take family and house guests here because everyone can get EXACTLY what they want. I am a good cook but I can't make four different meals at once. In all these years I have never had anything but excellent food. The ingredients are fresh... More

Wonderful just-squeezed OJ. Old-fashioned milk shakes, very generous & flavorful. Exceptional home-made potato chips. Yummy 2- or 3-egg omelette.
