While I would agree the ambience inside is "space" , the quality of the food makes up for it! The chilaquiles is my go to breakfast choice. It's so filling, spicy and textural. Two moderate weight adults could split it as it's so filling. Also the coffee is strong and fair trade. Allergens are clearly listed on the menu. The... More

The breakfasts we had were excellent. We had the regular and mole chilaquiles, and the guava french toast. Everyone loved what they got!! And the coffee was really good too. Some people might be underwhelmed by the location/ambience, but for me it was all about the food and I was impressed. We will definitely be back since we only live... More

Stopped at Anepalco's Café on the way to San Diego. I looked up Mexican restaurants, on Yelp, near the hotel I was checking out of and saw that Anepalco's was highly rated, so we stopped there for lunch. This is a Mexican-French fusion restaurant, so if you are not adventurous or are in the mood for typical Mexican food found... More

The food is excellent, which pains me to give it 4 stars. Actually I almost wanted to give it 3 stars solely because of service. This is also the same with the Chapman location. Its the food that brings me back, despite the lousy service... otherwise I'd give them 2 stars. I came here for lunch and was lucky to... More

Went for breakfast. I had the chilaquile plate. It was a stacked chilaquile plate, very modern looking food placement, the chilaquiles were a big round tower, with lots of red sauce. Was good. Good coffee, good service.

So the big attraction here are the chilaquiles apparently. They appear twice on the menu. This stuff is not that hard to make, people. Essentially what they've done here is taken probably store bought salty tortilla chips, fried them up then former them into a square. Then it gets doused with a deep red chile sauce. Add a two egg... I admit I was dubious. Mexican- French fusion? I was pleasantly surprised. My meal was terrific (Cielo et terre) and my friends all raved about their meals as well. Unfortunately, Anepalco adjoins an Ayres Inn Hotel, giving the impression that it is more of a coffee shop than an interesting niche restaurant that is really worth a visit. The service... More

I knew the food would be great because a friend who is a chef recommended this restaurant to me. Had the ceviche and tuna tartar to start!!! So good, fresh and simple. The restaurant in mexican fused with french. The pairing is subtle, bringing out the best of both worlds. Then came the Al Adobo steak with chiliquiles and the... More
