Many layers, all tasty

Yo know, I have been to the Green Onion, the Red Onion, even the Purple onion back in the day, and man, the Blue Onion is so much better than all the other Onion restaurants. Back in 68, I went to the Paisley Onion in San Fran.....Wow, just Wow. This place is THAT GOOD! Go eat here

The coffee was 'help yourself' to the flasks of coffee, milk, sugar etc. There were a variety of breads, bagels and fillings to order. for a quick bite at a fair price in a ski resort, it's worth dropping into.

This was our 'go-to' place for breakfast and brunch at Squaw. So sorry it closed. It seems busy enough during the mornings, but they didn't serve dinner, so that was a bummer. If they opened for dinner, may be they will still be in business.

The Blue Onion Cafe serves Lake Tahoe from two locations. Kings Beach location is open year round for breakfast & lunch. During the winter, they also operate from the Squaw Valley location. We enjoyed Sunday lunch/brunch at the Kings Beach property. It's across the beach on a golf course and offers great lake views from the deck. The blue decorations... More

There are so many delicious looking offerings, it took me entirely too long to decide between ordering off of the amazing breakfast menu (think eggs, paninis, breakfast burritos, crepes) and nabbing one of the lunch options (sandwiches, soups, salads, etc.). I ended up grabbing a veggie sandwich and was totally in LOVE. The bread is amazing (it's rare that that's... More

We heard about this place from a bartender in Squaw Valley and went the next day. Amazing food, service and atmosphere. If you're in the Nonth Shore area do not miss this gem!

Having devoured the crepes at Creperie Catherine in Mont Tremblant over the X-mas holiday, we were looking for a similar experience at Squaw. Unfortunately, the only place that made crepes, Blue Onion, was somewhat disappointing. However, to be fair, our standards/base comparison was high. That said, the local favorites/omelets were surprisingly good. Overall, it's a safe place for breakfast.
