A cafe-market-bakery-salad bar serving Mexican food using organic chiles, tomatoes and tomatillos grown at the farm. The tortillas are handmade and the sangria is topped with local Ojai citrus. Quite a few vegan, raw and gluten-free offerings; everything else is vegetarian. Lovely outdoor patio with a striped green awning and a view of the mountains.

Best Veggie Burger....ever.

We had the veggie burger - which was amazing and a torta/potato dish with beans, cabbage and rice. All very tasty. Only complaint is the place could have been cleaner. Floors/tables all needed some attention.

Stopped in here on the advice of a blog post by Shiva Rose. Loved the farm fresh food, simple, home-style meals. Also loved supporting the business. The night we stopped in, they were hosting a benefit for a film about the life of Vandana Shiva. Awesome!

Honest, clean, healthy food served in a modest, uncontrived and casual atmosphere that complements and points up the authenticity of the food it serves.

I think all the food at this restaurant is great. My favorites are any of their soups and the veggie burger. They only use the best, fresh ingredients.

Apart from wonderful goodies the staff are absolutely the most personable, what could be better! Check the opening hours they are a little unusual but worth discovering.

One of the painful experiences eating out for my wife and I, is the feeling that we can do much better at home, At the Farmer & Cook, we always feel good after our meal and know that it is mostly farm to table cooking. The care that they put into their menu, the prepared foods, the groceries you can... More

The most imaginative and light Mexican fare imaginable. We had the Huarache and the goat cheese and veggie tacos and couldn't have been more pleased. Our only regret is that we didn't order a couple of smoothies to take with us. Next time.

Had a great Veggie burger and a Pinkus beer. They have a great local growers market inside as well. Could not decide what to eat because it al sounded so good! Can't wait to try a new dish next time!!

Some of the best food in Ojai, I highly recommend the taquitos, the veggie burgers, and the smoothies.
