A cafe-market-bakery-salad bar serving Mexican food using organic chiles, tomatoes and tomatillos grown at the farm. The tortillas are handmade and the sangria is topped with local Ojai citrus. Quite a few vegan, raw and gluten-free offerings; everything else is vegetarian. Lovely outdoor patio with a striped green awning and a view of the mountains.

I love this place. They have a lot of great organic products and food items. My wish list is I wish they do less fried things, and more sugar free things.

Love this place - the cook is married to the organic farmer. They have an array of delicious homemade food, from Mexican dishes, to sandwiches to grab, to home made soups and desserts. We got food to go because we were driving out of town & it was delicious, however next time we'll eat there on the patio with the... More

This small place will only be discovered with the recommendation and directions of a local, as it's tucked away on a side street - just the kind of place we like to find. It offers excellent organic soups, sandwiches and smoothies, with a special pizza menu several days a week. It's a perfect stop for lunch. It doubles as a... More

I have never had a salad that compares with the amazing variety and freshness on offer by this farm to table restaurant. It absolutely spoiled me for salads anywhere else. Words cannot describe the taste, uniqueness, and variety of what is on offer. In addition to just picked freshness of the vegetables, they offer perfect roasted potatoes, boiled eggs, croutons... I love eating at Farmer and the Cook. It is very, very casual. I truly make a stop there each time I am in Ojai to purchase their custom made chai tea which you can buy in various sizes. It's also a great place to pop in on the way out of town to purchase snacks and fresh organic fruit... More

All the food here is local and the owners want to make sure that you are putting healthy food in your body. Very chill hippy vibe that is hard to find in the 2015 in Southern California.

I'd really like to like this place. I like the idea: Organic, locally-sourced produce, small, locals.......BUT, there are some problems. There are say too many flies hovering over and onto the produce. The prices are too high. Coffee bean prices have gone down in the last year, not up, and yet, these folks have raised their coffee prices. That's not... More
