This place has the best fish n chips. Great music and is right on the water. It's under the Pier Bridge and across from a Ampi theater.

This was an unexpected surprise. Small and intimate seaside grotto. A little confusing At first, two restaurants side by side, same owner. "The Fish Joint" & "hill cafe" we were a group of twelve, seated at The Fish Joint; and were able to order from both places. Double the menu, how great is that? Orders varied from a cheeseburger and... More

Fun, funky, casual, laid-back place. It's not very big but we went early for dinner so we didn't wait at all. The menu is thoughtful and different -- really fresh ingredients put together in creative, delicious combinations. The way the menu is written and the story of how the Fish Joint came to be is witty and real. As visitors... More

The wait is a little long, but I've never had bad service on this side of Hill Street. The fish and sushi are fresh and the waiter/sushi chef is always smiling, helpful, and makes great rolls that are artfully displayed!

And this place is all about it. Best Sushi in town for sure. Everything is a la carte, no all you can eat here. Their original rolls are all yummy. They also have the traditional favorites. Try the Hogsbreath roll...ah-mazing!

We were in Oceanside on vacation, and were told by a formal local to go to the fish joint. We were so happy we did. The menu was so unique and I was very pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian/vegan options also. We got the Kronic roll, gorilla ball roll, teriyaki dinner with tofu/vegs/rice. All were excellent! The decor was paintings... More

Yes, you can you traditional rolls. If you do that, you will be missing the boat completely. All of their house rolls are are themed after Gilligan's Island each one is unique and delicious. Service is pretty casual but, efficient. The place is small and friendly. Try the Spicy Squid appetizer.

As a tourist passing through Oceanside was just looking for a quick bite. Felt like fish and chips and the gps brought up the fish joint. Well, when we got in there they did have fish and chips but when I saw the sushi I couldn't miss it. I am from Vancouver bc and we have tons of fish and... More

SUPER slow service. Asked the chef to make sashimi and were presented with spicy tuna. It was so hot, it drowned out the flavor of the food. Save yourself a trip and go to Harni. At least they appreciate and know how to present sushi.
