Of course the walk out on the pier is wonderful, but when you get to Ruby's it gets even better. The view is amazing, and in the past, I have seen both whales and dolphins from the restaurant. My most recent visit was with my cousin from Sweden. I wanted him to experience a great American hamburger and milkshake. We... More

Be prepared to wait for a table, sometimes up to an hour. Once in you are greeted with a friendly staff, great burgers and signature milk shakes. The walk to and from the end of the pier where Ruby's is located is quite long but very scenic.

We watched the sunset from a terrific vantage point of Ruby's deck. We went partially healthy and had wonderful Mediterranean shrimp salads, very fresh! Then we followed up with handmade 50's style milk shakes - the pumpkin was yummy. They fill your glass and also give you the leftover from the metal blender container!! The kids at other tables seemed... More

We were in Oceanside on a spectacular clear day. We walked the Oceanside Pier down to Ruby's and had a great lunch out on the patio. I enjoyed hamburgers, fries and an ice tea. The person I was with had a great bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich with fries. We thought the service was stellar and friendly. We liked their... More

If you're looking for burgers and shakes this is your place! Old fashioned flavored soda, chili fries, and delicious burgers. Beautiful view at the end of a pier in the Pacific ocean. Gorgeous blue water. Great family dining. Eat outside, which is upstairs and delightful.

Love chicken and avocado sandwiches. Great soup, too. Root beer! 50's atmosphere! Ocean! Was great. French fries were also good.

My husband and I and our 2 small children had an AMAZING vacation in Oceanside and on the way home thought we would end out trip with breakfast at the end of the pier at Rubys. AWFUL decision. First off the restaurant was dingy and dirty looking, but the view out the window is awesome so I gave it a... More

We were staying at the Wyndam Pier Resort at the top of the pier, so we walked out to the diner, nice walk. Lot of activity on the pier with the fishermen and women. So go into Ruby's wait persons name was Sebastian I believe. ( The bait shop half way down the pier was a blast.). He was very... More

What a cool place for a restaurant...out on the Pier! But we walked in and found a lack of cleanliness, particularly in the bathrooms. Gross smell! The service was slow and we had to ask several times for certain items. The food, however, looked and tasted really good. A bit pricy though. If you ask me, a well-run fish N... More

It has good diner food but it seems to taste bester as your looking at the ocean. Service is good even if you have to wait for a table it seems to be a popular place.
