Food was ok, service started out good but did not last long. We are visiting our time share and I kind of got the feeling if you were a local fine but tourists, are second fiddle.

I have eaten here on and off for years and the food is always good and the service always friendly. Great place to grab breakfast or lunch with friends.

This is one of those places you just can't afford to miss. Face it, we are exposed to so many restaurants that if one stands out it has to really be good. The 101 Cafe in Oceanside is sure in that group of stand out restaurants. From the easy and ample parking to the great historic photos on the wall... More

Couldn't leave town with stopping in for breakfast (also open for lunch) at this historic cafe, located on Hwy. 101/Coastal Hwy. Our breakfast was good, hearty, and reasonable. Coffee was very good. Enjoyed the photos on the walls outlining the history of this cafe. Service was prompt and friendly. Glad we stopped, and would go back when in the area!

The easy to find restaurant is right on one of the main roads of Oceanside with plenty parking. We received good service with a direct look and an easy smile, good proportions of delicious food at reasonable prices. The chilli was excellent. The décor was historic while the seating areas looked newly done with black bench like comfortable seats.

Pros: We arrived @ 2 minutes before closing and started to go elsewhere but the waitress insisted we stay if we liked. She made the place. She played with my granddaughter and gave 5 star service. Cons: The food & prices were OK.

The breakfast was not special but it had an old-timey diner feeling to it. Coffee was very good though. Bathrooms are next door across the parking lot. They have booths, tables and stools. So they can meet all seating arrangements. The menu was fulsome and there is a lot of California history on the walls.

Good food And Great Service At An Old Diner (Est 1928) In Oceanside. The Place was Packed And They Were Short Staffed BUT Kelsey & Nolan Did A Great Job Working Hard To Keep Everyone Happy. We Ordered The SF Tuna Melt & The Ortega Burger. Both Were Excellent. We'll Be BacK!

We drove by this diner numerous times and finally tried it while waiting for the next surf competition to start. Portions were large but I was not impressed with the order of pancakes I ordered. They were semi warm and the bottom of the cakes were slightly burned. I requested sugarless syrup and was given two small packets. My husband... More
