Our server was great

Visiting for a few weeks in Oceanside. Four of us went for lunch. Two of us had breakfast and two had lunch. There was only one server and she had everything under control. My brother in law was commenting on his food - that he had not realized that he had ordered green chile; thought his meal... read more

One of my very favorite places to have breakfast or lunch. Outstanding atmosphere in this very old historic diner. Booths with classic Jukebox satellites, out of this world milkshakes and burgers. Old photos of historic Oceanside line the walls and the original nostalgic snack bar is still in service. Booths were added 50 years ago. Outdoor dining and a beautiful... More

We went for breakfast and then lunch several days later. Its a good diner no different from thousands of others except it located a an old building. Small parking lot but there is parking on the side streets. Interesting steel table tops are pretty durable and different. Service is very good; no helicoptering and very good knowledge of the menu... More

Established in 1928 as a small diner, the 101 Cafe is an Oceanside institution. Breakfast is served all day and the menu features throwbacks such as chocolate malts and Jan’s Raspberry Coffee Cake. Lunch options are also classic from cheeseburgers to meatloaf. Service is swift and amiable even during the lunchtime rush.

They say it's the oldest restaurant in Oceanside. I does have that feel of the 50's. It's open for breakfast and lunch only. I had their Classic French Toast and it was really yummy. The servers were all friendly, and the service was pretty good. I will go back when I return to San Diego, and I,d recommend you give it a... More

Stopped for gas and stayed for lunch on the way home from Oceanside Beach. The post card says "The 101 Café, established in 1928 as a 20 seat diner is the west Coast's oldest and best café on the Historic Highway 101." Taking the self promotion with a grain of salt, we stayed to eat after "filling up." My expectations... More

Visited this little diner while on a visit to Oceanside, CA. It was very cute, like stepping back in time. But better than that the food was great! Good family style cooking with great portions. We had breakfast there, very tasty, atmosphere not fancy but brought me back to the little diners in the 50's. Enjoyed this little stop at... More

We decided to have lunch in here on our last full day in Oceanside. There is ample parking behind the restaurant and to the side. My partner ordered corn beef hash and I just asked for some bacon as I wasn't feeling well. Kelsey our waitress was friendly and professional and brought us iced water. Our food was delivered after... More
