Great Authentic Mexican Food

I tried this restaurant based on other Trip Advisor reviews and recommend it to others traveling to Oceanside, Ca. I had three tacos, which is one of my criteria for testing authenticity...if they are too dressed up, it's not the real deal (based on travels in Mexico). This place was spot on... read more

I had three tacos, which is one of my criteria for testing authenticity...if they are too dressed up, it's not the real deal (based on travels in Mexico). This place was spot on- fish taco 7/10 (although fried); carnitas 9/10 (one... More

The food is always good. And the portions are substantial but the service isn't always quality. I always feel rushed to order even when I'm the only one in line. When asking for extras on my food I'm always met with a little attitude and the charge for extras is ridiculous. Make sure to ask what the extra charge is... More

Bought a new home near this restaurant and finally gave it a try. The food, though good, was only average in my estimation. I had the fried shrimp and my companion had a sea food stir fry. The food was bit pricy, the bill was over $42.00 for 2 people, but overall I would rate it average. I go to... More

I had a fish taco/lobster taco plate. The fish taco was terrific. Crunchy flavorful and flakey. The lobster taco had a nice selection of vegetables in it, but they were cooked too much and had a bit too much "juice." The lobster portion in taco was just barely passing. Cooked right, just not enough. Beans were fresh, and service for... More

It's like being in Mexico. Kitchen tables, vinyl covered chairs, friendly attentive wait staff and plenty of great food.

living in Arizona we have so many good mexican restaurants to choose from, I was excited to try Mariscos because it had great reviews. I've learned that the region of mexico the food comes from makes a big difference to me. I prefer sonoran style food and this is not it. Mariscos was clean and the staff was friendly but... More

A locals type of place, located about ten minutes from the I-5, the 76, & the 78 @ the corner of El Camino Real and Oceanside Blvd. Great burritos @$5, platas at$7 and house specialties, like a whole fish fried beach style (big enough for 2 or 3) $15-20. Free homemade chips and salsa, beer or sodas to drink. I... More

My BF and I discovered this place when we searched online for a Mexican seafood place. Their ceviche is on point and their shrimp cocktail is authentic. The beans and rice are average. They serve chips and salsa once you sit down and they have a salsa bar in the back of the restaurant. The service is friendly although it... More

Everytime I visit Oceanside on Business Travel I stop through this restaurant at least twice. It is a favorite amongst working class couples, families and young locals who enjoy watching spanish TV shows and sports on Large Screen TVs. The staff is very proud of their menu and, hence, is extremely patient and detailed when answering your questions about your... More

Ate here twice during a recent stay in Oceanside. Staff very friendly and owner was on site both times. Free chips and salsa. Salsa was great. Wife had beef enchiladas with green sauce. Not hamburger but shredded beef. She thought they were awesome. I had two dishes with shrimp and both were equally as good. Prices are very cheap for... More
