A Local Favorite

I've been coming to Flying Pig for a couple of years and I LOVE IT. The food is beyond delicious, the service is always great, the vibe is awesome. All the food is locally grown. The menu even changes with the season depending on what's available. TIP: Flying Pig is always busy. Plan on... read more

Yes, it looks like a dive...cinder-block construction, side-street, next to an auto lot. Don't miss it--excellent food (and not just the pork-related menu items), including great appetizers (try the charcuterie, which will feed four) or the flatbread. Haven't had anything yet from the menu that wasn't great.

We thought this would be a beach BBQ place (pulled pork, etc) but it was so much more. The pork sandwich was great and the mac & cheese was really good. They make homemade pasta as well as serve daily steak specials. Looking forward to going back on my next visit

Food was delicious. If you're looking to eat something light, I recommend the Octopus Salad. Highly recommend then Bacon Mac N' Cheese (to share). The banana bread doughnuts were too good. Definitely a must.

We are full time travelers. My wife is an oil painter so we do art shows all over the west coast from Washington down to San Diego and out as far east as Denver. We were staying in Oceanside, CA and trapped by the June Gloom (the California marine layer) in Oceanside and so decided to go out to dinner.... More

....even though it looks like it from the outside! We were visiting friends in Carlsbad who insisted on coming here. We were greeted & seated by the owner, very friendly guy. It's dark & pubby on the inside, I loved the atmosphere. Our server was insanely knowledgeable about the menu/specials etc. They lose one star for being out of every... More

You wouldn't know it from the outside, but this cozy little restaurant has a great atmosphere and really nice food. The beer and wine selection are quite nice with a wide variety for all tastes. The food was prepared uniquely with a lot of care and thought in combinations of ingredients. Presentations and portions were really nice. I had a... More

Weekend stay in Oceanside brought us here. Everything was amazing...food, service, atmosphere. Met owner who was very welcoming and polite. Went on a Friday, was busy; able to get a table in ten minutes. Great craft beer selection and food was great! Clean and great vibe!

We stumbled upon this place and we were pleasantly surprised. It is hidden away on a side street in Oceanside. It serves only beer and wine but has a good selection of craft beers and the wine selection looked to be more than adequate. The atmosphere itself is simple and eclectic. The menu reflects the atmosphere from steak to fish.... More

While visiting Oceanside it was strongly recommended we try this place. Awesome vibe, cool decor, we waited a while to get a table so I recommend you book or arrive early. Tried some super cocktails while waiting and service was prompt and friendly. Every item on the menu looked mouth watering, my friends all ordered the beet salad and said... More
