You definitely wouldn't find Flying Pig unless you were looking for it. It's hidden off of the main street in Oceanside. The restaurant has a rustic/rockish decor, with a bar on the left, and plenty of smaller tables throughout. I imagine you would have to wait quite a while on a Fri/Sat night, though. Their menu has some really interesting... More

Never had a bad meal there. The past specials are always great. Always an interesting selection of local micros. Friendly staff

I'd avoided this place because it sounded too much of a pub / bar and not enough of a restaurant. When some family members came to town who I figured would enjoy a bar / restaurant hybrid, we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did - and I'll be back again. I'm thoroughly bored of gastrobars... More

I have been to the flying pig 4 times now and I have never been disappointed! Pork chop, short ribs and chicken and dumplings are awesome but they can make your decision harder when you listen to the daily specials! Service is always amazing and price is great for the quality of food and service you receive. They have a... More

I am an Oceanside local and this is by far one of my favorite places to eat. The environment is very cozy and comfortable. The service has been excellent every time we have been in and the food is amazing with very flavorful and unique menu choices. The nice cherry on top is that they also have a great selection... We enjoyed dinner in November for a surprise birthday party. Our party included 9 people and we all enjoyed good food and good service. Although we were there on a Wednesday and arrived a little late, we did not feel rushed. I love that the place is a little laid back, and not stuffy, even though the food would have... More

We ate here twice over a few weeks. Early on a Sunday evening, and early on a Friday evening. The noise level was definitely louder on Friday evening, but still not as bad as other reviewers have described. The food on both occasions was great. We tried the pork chop with grits, the blackened catfish with grits, the special pasta-of-the-day,... More

great wine list even tho we bring our own wine. Great friendly service, and even better g- free food options. I left filled with good food and a great social dining experience. I will definitely return when I'm in town
