My favorite local watering hole and restaurant. This place is busy 7 days a week, so don't be surprised if you have to wait for a table. I eaten here several time and never been disappointment. The fresh pasta and steak specials are always a good bet. The portions are generous so come hungry. If you are into Mac &... More

This place is "off the beaten path", but VERY well loved. We arrived fifteen minutes before the bar even opened (4:30), and the bartender generously invited us in and served us anyway. The kitchen was due to open at 5:00, yet there were nearly 20 customers seated and ordering by then. And by the time we left, the place was... More

We had exceptionally friendly service here. We were told there would be a 20 min. wait, but it was less than 10 min. Bartender, Peter, was awesome. We had bacon Mac and cheese, pork belly entree, rib entree, and two glasses of wine. Everything was exceptional. Fun, eclectic atmosphere. We'll be back!

Very good food however the atmosphere ...it was very very loud in the restaurant and dark! Sit by the door if you want to see your food. That being said, they had excellent food and service!

This little gem has wonderful fresh local food, centering mainly around pork. There were some wonderful salads (we tried the Beet Salad) mac&cheese with bacon, pork chops, pork tenderloin, pork burgers and much more. They also had a great wine and beer selections. It is one block off the 101 in Oceanside but super cool! Definitely worth the trip.

All the diners are distinctive. I suspect some will like and less adventuresome will not. My wife thought her pig belly was very good. I would have got the short rib but was leary of the anise in the sauce.

Great place to eat southern comfort foods with the FLOSS philosophy. My husband and I had tried to visit this place before and were surprised at how long the wait was (45 minute) on a weekday. We decided to return another day, Saturday, and arrived promptly at 4p, opening time. The area is not exactly what I had pictured in... More

Had dinner here during vacation food was great, service great and a fun place! More of a organic and creative flair to the food. Our waitress was friendly and quick. The only drawback was I had looked up the menu ahead of time and had something I wanted to try and our server said the website had not been updated... More

the place is nice, small, and different yet I do not know what the fuzz is about. Food is overprized, beer selection is miniscule and once the place is full is really loud...not to mention if someone decides to bring their kids....really loud

The Flying Pig is a great, fun, local pub to experience in Oceanside, Serving dishes are unique, quaint, right out of Grandma's kitchen, mason jar and all. The menu is quite different, very good; cauliflower w/cranberries...yummmy, pork chop grilled to perfection, braised short ribs, super moist!!! You have to try the Mac-n-cheese w/bacon appetizer, mmmm. Quite noisy, can be a... More
