The dinner here was very tasty and we really enjoyed it after it was finally served. I had the duck very generous portion and cooked wonderfully with dried and fresh cherries....EXCELLENT! My partner had Braised Beef Shank also very delicious! However the waitress was terrible! Supper slow service and Never came to ask us how our dinner is/was ETC. The... More

The food was good, but for the price I expected more. I'd heard so much about the place I was looking forward to it. We say outside in a concrete alley. All in all I was disappointed.

Bistro de Copains now changes its menu seasonally, dropping my favorite mushroom creme brulee and the traditional escorgot. And to make it worse, the beef tartar had no flavorings at all, no worcheshire, no capers or anything else. The scallops were fine but the mushroom base on which it was placed was dry and salty. Please please, go back to... More

Dined with four women (5 total) during our "girls' weekend" in Sonoma. All were pleased with menu and meals. Really delicious and laid back. It was a Sunday night and they said short-staffed so it took longer than for food service than would be expected, but we weren't in a big rush. Plus, a very large party had departed immediately... Visited here twice and the food was very good. Lovely service and accommodated our vegetarian needs. A little bit of european loveliness in downtown Occidental!

this place is very unassuming on the outside, but wow, the food is amazing! this was recommended by someone who knows the area and it was fantastic. the food is french, but with a lighter california twist. really just a beautiful meal. if you are in the area, have dinner here, don't know if they are open for lunch, but... Good ingredients, i opted for the Truite dish on their menu, and my wife the salmon special, but both the salmon and trout were overcooked. A pity as this restaurant was recommended as the best in Occidental. In fact our salad at the pub the previous evening was cheaper and just as good.

Dining at Bistro Des Copains with friends was absolutely wonderful. Occidental is a bit off the beaten track but therein lies its charm. The building is unpretentious but inviting. Our server was gracious, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The wine list featured offerings from Sonoma County at very affordable prices and the food (steak-frites and escargot) simply was every bit as good... More

Food quality to price was about right. Everything was cooked to perfection. Loved the daily desserts and would have tried the daily specials but there were too many great choices on the main menu. No bread was served as in a typical bistro but generous portion made me begin to forget it wasn't there. Wine list is reasonable and has... More
