I got the pulled pork BBQ sandwich. The pork was great and the collards I ordered were incredible. The bread on the sandwich was soggy, though. Next time I'll order the chicken and waffles, now that looked like food perfection.

A very hip restaurant with outstanding food. The way is long on the weekends. We have been there for brunch and loved the food and aptmoshere.

Went with friends, so got to taste several menu items. Cornmeal waffles really light and delicious, though wasn't crazy about the chicken. Good flavor, but not crispy enough for me. Cheesy grits and eggs - yes! That was my favorite! The coffee was not that great, but I like mine really strong, so consider that it may be fine for... More

What a place to eat, everything is outstanding the service and the food. The Waffle with Fried Chicken was amazing, and the Egg and Vegetable Tart incredible! One of the best places for a meal.

I was there on 10/31/14... Ok, so had heard some much hype about this place, I finally had the opportunity to check it out for myself. It's in a up and coming area of Oakland, so don't get turned off by the location--it's very diverse area now...:-) The outside of the restaurant looks like just another whole in the wall,... More

It's been a while now and I'm craving to go back! I've always disliked long lines, but will expect a line when I decide to go back. They are THAT good! =) the waffles are light, airy and crispy. The fried chicken....YUM! And their Mac N Cheese....great flavor! As I am thinking about that now,....looks like I'll be returning tomorrow!

Grateful for the urban pioneers who have the guts to branch out into new areas of Oakland. And glad that's it's worked out well for Tonya Holland et al. High quality product. Super great breakfasts and baked goods. How can you go wrong with a GREAT biscuit. I really appreciate the higher quality of ingredients ... the free range eggs,... More

Oakland is a sketchy place so the location had me nervous. Chicken and waffles for breakfast? Wow....it was amazing. This is a must do if your in the area.

So I had food envy because my friends ordered the cornmeal waffles and I ordered gumbo. The gumbo was good, but only good- I have had better. Portions are generous. The food is not cheap. The waffles were so crispy and rich and just wonderful. Another point for the desserts- totally inexpensive and awesome. I had sweet potato pie and... More
