LOVE the artichoke torte. Have to get some every time a go there. Then I have to splurge on something like a sandwich or the ravioli. Even though the lines might be long, they hustle for you and make it right! The sandwiches are so big, you might even want to split one.

The Temescal neighborhood in Oakland was settled by people from Genoa, Italy. Sadly, the Genova Delicatessen & Ravioli Factory is one of the few remnants of this of this ethnic population in this area. I'm not sure exactly how this store has hung on over the years. The shop where I was sent as a child to buy Italian Dry... More

I like their raviolis, meatballs, sandwiches and lasagna. My tip is save yourself a ton of cash and buy from their frozen take it home n cook it area. One piece of lasagna ala carte is like $9 where a whole pan is only $18. The frozen is great and no one at home would know that you didnt actually... More

A few of us from work went here for dinner and waited for 45 mins to get in. It was all worth the wait though. The sandwiches here are amazing!! I don’t think I’d ever want to eat a sandwich anywhere else! Some of my colleagues ordered Pasta with eggplants etc, and it was all so fresh and yummy. Would... More

Excellent old style deli with great made to order sandwiches. Staff is VERY HELPFUL and will bend over backwards to provide you with information and excellent service. Prices are very reasonable. Shouldn't be saying this, since weekends the lines are long and I want my raviolis NOW!

The staff is simply wonderful. Everything with an Italian accent is available inside the walls of this delicatessen. Their signature pastas and sauces are almost as good as homemade. All selections are fresh with a variety that is unbeatable. Breads & rolls are fresh daily. I do miss the Ligouria foccacia.

We have been eating their raviolis (available with several different fillings) for years as a quick dinner. Not fancy or upscale, just basic, home-style, Italian fare from a longtime Oakland tradition.

if you want that subtle experience of the Italian Deli, look no further than the Genova; as soon as you step inside the door, you smell, see and hear the old world of Italian food; hard-to-find items like spicy coppa sandwich meat and Italian provolone cheese are always available
