Great Deli

Great sandwiches, prepared food, and service. Salad bar is great, but can get expensive. You make your salad, they weigh it, then you pay. Be careful, this can get expensive.

It hard to find a place like this any more - a real Italian deli with a broad selection of excellent Italian food. The sandwiches are great with many choices of breads, fillings, and condiments. Rather than choosing one of their their per-chosen menu selections I recommend you branch out and create a selection of your own. There is lots... More

Busy, busy! Expect long lines but so worth the wait! Too hectic for eating in though... Just make a real deal: get your sandwich for lunch and buy deli meats and fried artichoke balls, salads, bread and frozen ravioli to get you through the week. A tad expensive, but genuine and fresh. Just do it!

The guys (and they're all guys) that work at the sandwich counter are efficient, gracious, funny. And the dry goods selection is pretty broad. Bufala, basil, and tomatoes on Dutch crunch, with a take home of ravioli. What more could you want?

Go on a weekend and prepare for lines...but wow... my turkey sandwich order: (genova's roast turkey, as they have many others) sourdough roll all kinds of mustard (i think they have 3, Dijon x2, honey...sometimes they get annoyed at this....haha) mayo onion tomato lettuce pepperonis be prepared to be blown away...i have never had a deli sandwich like this anywhere...

Their deli is a visual delight and the sandwiches well worth the wait. But just to have this well stocked deli in the city is my idea of heaven.

After spending a week on the east coast in New Jersey, I didn't expect to find an italian deli this good on the west coast. Narrow thinking on my part. The italian combo sandwhich is excellent. I also had a side of garlic stuffed olives that were very good. Give this place a try. I don't think you'll regret it.

LOVE the artichoke torte. Have to get some every time a go there. Then I have to splurge on something like a sandwich or the ravioli. Even though the lines might be long, they hustle for you and make it right! The sandwiches are so big, you might even want to split one.

The Temescal neighborhood in Oakland was settled by people from Genoa, Italy. Sadly, the Genova Delicatessen & Ravioli Factory is one of the few remnants of this of this ethnic population in this area. I'm not sure exactly how this store has hung on over the years. The shop where I was sent as a child to buy Italian Dry... More

I like their raviolis, meatballs, sandwiches and lasagna. My tip is save yourself a ton of cash and buy from their frozen take it home n cook it area. One piece of lasagna ala carte is like $9 where a whole pan is only $18. The frozen is great and no one at home would know that you didnt actually... More
