A group of about 20 dined here for a business dinner and the service was impeccable. Starters were a Cheese Board with an excellent selection of artisan cheeses and the "Butcher Block", a charcuterie plate with several pates and meats, served alongside both a bread basket with two varieties of very crusty, yeasty bread, and a cracker basket with crunchy... I went here over the holidays for lunch with a friend. We didn't have a reservation (highly recommended even for lunch and necessary for dinner for sure as the place is not that big). The hostess was kind enough to give us a table but advised that she needed it for another reservation in an hour. That was plenty of... More

In town for an event we decided to walk in for dinner. Our experience started most unusually as we were asked to wait to the side while an ambulance crew removed a person from the the restaurant on a stretcher. She appeared to be alert and as she exited the patrons gave her some applause. The staff handled the situation... More

Everything here is great. The food, the service, the atmosphere. The burger is exceptional and the cocktails inventive in a good way. The seafood stew was everything I hoped it would be. Parking can be a problem, and it does get noisy when busy. Those are the only negative things I can say. Always a good time there. Sit at... More

Fresh ingredients in delicious combinations in a lively setting. The burrata with pears on toast points may be the best burrata I've ever had. The well-seasoned sandwiches are served on bread from Acme, a perfect combination. And the pumpkin ice cream with pie crust nuggets on cranberry compote is a new twist on a seasonal favourite -- I'm going to... More

Corkage $15, wine list pretty good with a large variety of countries represented and some relatively little known varietals. I would have liked to see an inexpensive Italian sangiovese which are widely available. The cheapest sangio was Vino Nobile di Montepulciano was Il Macchione, Toscana, 2008 $58 and a Brunello at $80, there is no reason not to have a... More

Can get crowded and a bit noisy, but I like the food. Best to make reservations so you do not have too wait long.

Bar seating is best either via reservation OR show up before 6:pm. Cocktails are well crafted. Wine pairing is spot on. Food is hearty and delicious. A local, well enjoyed favorite. Can't recommend enough.

Great food, great ambiance, great service and a really, really hard reservation to land go hand in hand. The bar seating is fine, but not easy to get a stool either. My advice, close Southies next door and expand. This place is too good to be so small.

Wood Tavern has the best pastrami sandwich in the world and far better then any in New York City, the home of the pastrami sandwich. Better then Carnegie, Artie's, Katz's and David's Brisket House, believe it or not. Of course the remainder of the menu is excellent and the wine selection extensive. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner and reservations... More
