The crust is DELICIOUS! The restaurant is quite big, so it's not as difficult to get seated as it might seem. The wine list is full of European wines unfamiliar to me, but the servers will make suggestions to go with your order. Did I mention the pizza is amazing?

Situated in an old block of Telegraph near 51st, under a working neon Dutch Boy Paints sign, this converted storefront is one of a group of interesting food stops in Oakland's Temescal neighborhood. So yeah, it's busy and noisy, but is that a bad thing? We just showed up on a Thursday night without a reservation. That was a big... More

They do a really great job of making great pizza and specialty drinks. They get really busy, so definitely make a reservation. The staff is always very nice. I would go more often, but they can be a little pricey.

This restaurant has been one of my favorites since it opened 7 years ago. The menu has broadened and they now take reservations (a huge plus). They offer a variety of Italian dishes (including pizza obviously) all with a creative touch. I love the outdoor movies on summer evenings but wish the place would be a little less noisy. Go... More

This place has a lot of tables but there seems to always be a line. The pizza is a little pricey but the service is excellent. The ingredients are fresh. It takes a while in the evening as they have one wood fired oven. The ingredients are fresh. So if you are with some friends, make a reservation and be... More

This is a trending restaurant that just does not deliver. It may have when it initially opened but does not anymore. I was not pleased the first time but was willing to give it another chance and then the second time again so-so and then the third time was the listen stupid moment. Wait staff that doesn't care, kitchen staff... More

Busy, bustling Italian-- much more than pizza! Salads and apps are yummy, bread is fab. Pizza, made in a zillion different was is delicious. Crust is perfect, toppings fresh from the farm. Service outstanding, especially in light of the crowd

Yummmmmmmm So fresh, so good. You need to get a pizza but the pastas are lovely as well. The grilled squid is very tasty as well as the heirloom tomatoes with barata. There is a long line at the door but its' worth it. I like to have fun with waiters but ours was having none of that, it was... More

Pizzaiolo is right up there with the best italian food and neapolitan pizza places in San Francisco and New York. Actually, of all of the places I've had real pizza napoletana, Pizzaiolo is the best. Besides pies, Pizzaiolo features pastas, main courses, and appetizers made with local, fresh ingredients like squash blossoms, farmstead cheeses, broccolini, just picked tomatoes... even fresh... Always a great experience - great food, great service, fun crowd, great design (if you like industrial). Definitely worth a trip to try the pizzas - unbeatable.
