Good antipasto, pasta. Excellent salad. Friendly atmosphere, informal, high quality ingredients. All the dishes we ordered were fresh and freshly cooked.

Good pizzas. Excellent bread made on premises but you have to ask for it. Salmon dinner was okay. Persimmon salad was okay. Go for the pizza and the bread.

I heard so many great things about this restaurant that I was surprised when we had dinner there recently. The food was alright. The salad was unusual that the flavors of tomatoes and beans did not taste good together. The décor is urban gritty, the music was annoying (loud string jazz), we could hardly hear the others at our table... More

Had the opportunity to try Pizzaiola last night. Arrived as the restaurant was opening so we were seated immediately. From the hostess, the servers and everyone that interacted with us, our experience was excellent. We shared an heirloom salad and a margarita pizza, with a side of polenta. Everything was delicious, including their homemade sausage on half of the pie.... More

They not only serve a large variety of pizzas (we had one with tomatoes, padron peppers, pancetta and grana) also delicious frisee salad, and one with bib lettuce, green goddess dressing; mussels with tagliatelle and saffron; pasta arrabiata with guanciale. They have 2 roooms and a patio.

the restaurant is a nice location. its charming, comfy and friendly. but to be a good and typicle italien place, this is not enough. even if the food tasts good, which it does, it is not ok if the prices rise so high, that the food can not taste good any more. pizza for 17dollar, spaghetti starting from 16dollar, and... The crust is DELICIOUS! The restaurant is quite big, so it's not as difficult to get seated as it might seem. The wine list is full of European wines unfamiliar to me, but the servers will make suggestions to go with your order. Did I mention the pizza is amazing?

Situated in an old block of Telegraph near 51st, under a working neon Dutch Boy Paints sign, this converted storefront is one of a group of interesting food stops in Oakland's Temescal neighborhood. So yeah, it's busy and noisy, but is that a bad thing? We just showed up on a Thursday night without a reservation. That was a big... More

They do a really great job of making great pizza and specialty drinks. They get really busy, so definitely make a reservation. The staff is always very nice. I would go more often, but they can be a little pricey.

This restaurant has been one of my favorites since it opened 7 years ago. The menu has broadened and they now take reservations (a huge plus). They offer a variety of Italian dishes (including pizza obviously) all with a creative touch. I love the outdoor movies on summer evenings but wish the place would be a little less noisy. Go... More
